Great camera even though model is 8 years old
The D7500 came out in 2017, is one of Nikons higher quality models from that time. Does not have latest tech compared to latest cameras or even phones. But for my needs, its almost perfect. Excellent viewfinder, awesome battery life (typical of dslr's, and one of the advantages over mirrorless cameras). So easy to get a great image. Fast accurate auto-focus. I prefer Program mode, but when in Auto mode, you can still get amazing, dependably sharp lower noise photos. The lens (18-140mm) it comes with is awesome, great image quality at all focal lengths. I bought an older model, because it was new (hard to find this model new anymore), on deep discount (at least compared to price when released in 2017), and was the higher quality model I was looking for. Lens and camera body are weather resistant. Great movie quality, too. I almost always use 4k, I'm ok with 30 fps., (though many newer models have 4K 60fps) movie image quality is clear, sharp, pleasing. It is certainly larger than a compact camera, but I can't afford one of the better compact models out now, and even many full frame cameras are now smaller than the D7500. What with Tariffs and general inflation, good cameras are VERY expensive now. I must admit I am partial to Nikon, and I wanted a camera with a decent range telephoto lens. This camera tiks all the boxes important to me, I extremely happy with it. The lens is fairly compact for an 18-140mm configuration, is just an outstanding lens.

Excellent camera!
This camera, although it would be considered “dated” by younger generations of photographers, is still very much a powerhouse and a must have for anyone wanting to take photos in a variety of situations! This is a step up from the previous DSLR I owned so there is a small learning curve for me as far as the features. I also consider it a step up from the z50 mirrorless I own. While mirrorless is lighter weight, there are situations where it just isn’t capable of doing what I need. The real test for this D7500 will be marching season during halftime shows, but as of so far, I’m impressed! The 18-140 lens is truly an excellent lens! It is able to zoom in and out as I need in all situations I’ve used it so far. Very fast auto focus and I love that I can easily switch to manual on the lens itself without fiddling with settings on the camera. This significantly lowers the risk of me missing a photo opportunity because I’m looking for a setting in the camera menu. Sturdy body. This does add weight to the camera but honestly I feel like that isn’t a bad thing. I started my photography journey with an SLR with no auto focus and black & white film in HS. I learned to develop the film and photos myself. The features and options on this camera are truly amazing and I still have a lot to learn about it, but so far I’m impressed! I’ve always been a Nikon girl and they continue to provide excellent photography cameras and lenses! *photo taken at my local Memorial Day ceremony. This pup was super fast and I took several photos in quick succession to get the one shown on the review here. The D7500 didn’t hesitate, focused quickly and I was able to take this picture. The owners were thrilled when I posted it on the local page as they had yet to get a good pic of their new pup :)

great camera
This is a great camera. I got it in June 2025. It's now Feb 2026 and I have had NO ISSUES with it at all. If you're coming from an older Nikon, like I was, it'll take time getting used to the buttons/settings being in different locations (which is weird lol) but other than that, it's been a great camera. You tube has some helpful videos on using this camera and learning that settings.

Great pictures
After 40 years as a Pentax user I finally had to give up after two K70 cameras failed due to bad AF solenoids. Have used Nikon binoculars for many years so I migrated to Nikon and chose the D7500 with an 18-140mm lens. Still getting used to the camera, it has a different ‘feel’ after the Pentax, but I’m impressed with the picture quality. The lens is certainly heavier than I’ve been used to, but so far the auto focus has worked flawlessly, resulting in a sharpness to the pictures that has been difficult to capture in the past. Despite taking photos and videos for over 60 years, the myriad of settings is intimidating, but the ‘point and shoot’ option will probably suffice in most instances.

Great Price
For the price, it's a great camera. Takes some getting used to, but, I'm learning more and more every day. Love the sharp and clear photos it produces. Indeed the photos are so good, I'm, wondering if I have to "post-process," them.

great Nikon quality but lots of features to learn
great camera. still learning all the bells and whistles. Replaced a much older Nikon I lost in a housefire. I had my old camera down but now I am a novice with this one.

Love this camera!
I have been a long time Nikon user. I am a hobbyist in photography but I love the link to your smart phone feature! Makes posting to applications seamlessly from your phone, with a quality photo taken with an exceptional camera!

I was searching for the upgrade. At first, I was thinking of a pricey Nikon mirrorless camera. After doing more research, i decided to go with Nikon D7500 for upgrading my outdated and old school Nikon D90. I decided to purchase this DSLR due to its price and all requirements that I am looking for are met, with tilting screen, 4K video recording, audio & video inputs, Wifi & Bluetooth capability and with 51 focus points which is good for shooting wildlife, portrait and landscape. Also, all my lenses are with F-Mount. With a big surprise, all the items (DSLR + Kit Lens) are all brand new and very well packed and secured. I strongly recommend the seller for the job well done. You got my trust.
