I ordered the Mag 60 and was using it to hold my hand plane chisel while hand sharpening it. It did slip and change positions while using it so I decided to return it and get the stronger mag 90. Currently waiting for the new one to be delivered. It should work out great!!

I bought these to make a mount for my JessEm stock guides with my Sawstop fence.Didn’t want to screw into my fence. Many YouTube videos made concerning the topic if you want more info.They do what they say they do. They are STRONG magnets. Very strong. Not greatest sheer strength but that doesn’t really apply to my build.4 stars because the cost continues to be exuberantly expensive.

There have been times when I've tried using a strong magnet for a stop on my table saw but it just never worked out, too hard to fine adjust and didn't always hold solid. Saw one of these used on a YouTube site and had to get one. I've used my MagJig 150 several times now and find it works great, easy to fine adjust or to remove if needed, just a twist of the knob. Thinking about getting a second one, well worth the money.

I bought these to hold down a router fence for a router table I installed in the end of my table saw. The fence uses these to hold itself down and in place, vertical and horizontal.The vertical strength is well documented for the 150 and the 95; that is 150 lbs and 95 lbs of downward force respectively. I assumed the fence base was a lever to lift up the magnet. So, I took the distance between the magnet and the router bit and divided that into the 150 lbs to figure out how much hold I actually had. Based on that result I added a second magnet and all was peachy keen.However, what wasn't as clear was the shear or horizontal holding force. For the 150 it's 27 lbs and the 95 it's 15 lbs, but that depends on the thickness of the metal you are attaching it to, and the composition. For more information, check out their site and read the technical specs. With two magnets, I had at best 54 lbs of shear resistance. However, given that my table saw is kept lubricated, that is reduced. I still have around 35 lbs of shear resistance and that seems to be enough. Fortunately, I use Jessem Precision Rollers so the force of the piece against the fence, comes from the fence, and I don't need as much shear resistance. Your mileage may vary. Just a thing to think about if you are going to use it this way.I skipped the 40mm forstner bit and made custom holes to hold the specific shape of the magswitch base. The base is a little less than 1.25" wide, I made two start holes with the appropriate bits. Then I just jigsawed and filed it to fit. Was a tad loose, but screwed in, it was fine.Overall, these are great. Just know the specific details so you don't end up disappointed.

Use them for stops on cast iron tables and hold gowns on saw fence.

These magnets are simply amazing. The switch turns them off and on and they work perfectly. I use them for various jigs and fixtures in my shop. They are CRAZY expensive for what you get but if you need one there really aren't any practical alternatives. I have discovered that if you drill a slotted opening to fit the Magswitch then you don't need to screw them in place to make them functional. This allows me to just pull them out when I want to repurpose them with another fixture or jig and drop them in place. This simple technique will save you a boatload of cash! :-) One thing to note is that if you want them to resist lateral loads the capacity is only about 20% of the hold down capacity.
