This isn't supposed to boost picture quality
Needed this for my TV that doesnt have AV, and it runs better than I expected. Connectivity is good and was easy to set upThe thing with the picture quality, even though it has 720p and 1080p, it's not actually going to make it a higher quality, this tool is just supposed to allow you to connect incompatible devices. I knew about it but I can see that many did not lmao

Great item
Works great! No problem hooking it to my device and HDMI port on my tv. The only thing I didn’t know is it is powered by usb. It’s a good thing there was one on the tv.

Aspect ratio
For such a low price, I had low expectations, but this worked immediately when I connected my VCR to an HDMI TV. The description mentions compatibility with VCR and NTSC — I assumed this meant that the true aspect ratio of 4:3 would be possible, but that is not the case, at least with my particular spare HDMI TV (an Insignia brand, about 8 years old). Setting the adapter to 1080 or 720 makes no difference, as the VCR outputs only 480 lines of resolution. With no tape playing, the TV displays a blue screen showing “AV” and “NTSC” in the upper-right corner. When playing a tape, the remote control for my TV has an Aspect button that cycles through 5 different options, but all fill the screen, with various ways of zooming and distorting the true aspect ratio. So, this adapter works for me, but not quite as well as I had hoped.
