Decent medicated dog shampoo
My dog has skin issues. This is supposed to keep him from getting overly waxy feeling. It kind of does that. It foams up well for easy application. I like the Vet Solutions shampoo more, but am currently using both to cover the bases, because I like that but the vet reccommends this. It's a decent price here & I can get it refilled while traveling, thanks to Amazon which is good when I road trip with the pooch.

Gets the Job Done for Itchy Dogs
Great company with excellent products that work. Been using Virbac's Epi-soothe since 2009 after my senior, Rottie/Shep, developed significant skin and immune system problems. As he (Bear) has aged further, the Epi-Soothe was no longer controlling his yeasty skin or crusty breakouts after bathing and flea treatment. Tried this product after doing some research and it worked exactly as described. It did take a few baths before the yeast development was completely in check, so don't get discouraged if it doesn't help your dog overnight. It is important that you wash your dog twice in one sitting with this shampoo, and let him/her sit with the product worked into the fur for a good 10 - 15 minutes each time. Also, we use the Epi-Soothe cream rinse after bathing to ensure Bear's skin does not get too dry. But Bear is no longer panicking with irritated, itchy skin and his coat is smooth, soft, and shiny. Further, our house no longer smells like toe cheese upon entering because of Bear's skin condition. A product definitely worth a try. (p.s., it's important to rinse well after shampooing. Should your dog's temp go up after bathing and his/her ears seem warm, try re-rinsing, or, because we know he was rinsed very thoroughly, we give Bear weight-dosed Benedryl).UPDATE: I've found that I need to combine this shampoo with the Virbac Epi-Soothe shampoo(1/3 per every 2/3, respectively) to get maximum, and longer lasting results. Plus the Epi-Soothe leaves a very nice, fresh smell. I also use a conditioner on my dog's coat after shampooing, but that may not be necessary for your dog. I have used both rinse off conditioner that I have in my shower, and Virbac's leave-in conditioner. Both work equally well.

not worth the expense
does not foam at all so you are using a lot of product and it becomes too expensive. Does not make the hair look shiny at all. I will switch to an oatmeal colloidal product when this bottle is empty. I can't claim that this product helps my dog with his skin allergies.

Pyoben is awesome! Works great to tone down dog's irritated skin.
My rescue dog had demedex mange and horrible skin itching and irritation when I got him from the Humane Society. My vet recommended this shampoo and the more concentrated gel and it was a godsend. This poor dog was so itchy and torn up that he'd lost all of the fur from his belly, butt, ears and legs--his toes, "armpits", and the tips of his ears were raw and bleeding. It took a few months, but using this product really calmed down the hot spots and kept him from trying to chew his own skin off. (...and he looks great now!!)It worked so well for me that I recommended it to one of my friends. He had rescued a dog who's breed is known for skin conditions and he was having an awful time getting the dog's skin cleared up. His vet had him try all kinds of different pills and treatments (more than $500 worth!) and nothing worked. I gave him a bottle of this to try and sure enough, the dog's skin is much better and we're hoping the Pyoben will clear it up completely.HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great Product!!
My vet prescribed this shampoo for my pitbull who has pyoderma. I used it as my vet stated; twice a week for 4 weeks, and it cleared up the pyoderma with no problem. This may seem a bit expensive for some "dog shampoo" but let me tell you that an 8oz bottle at my vets office is $20! When this came in the mail I was shocked! Double the size for the same price! OUTSTANDING!!

Seems to Help Most of the Time
We have a white boxer who has severe skin allergies during peak times. This shampoo (and leave on conditioner) have been the most effective in offering him some relief from all the scratching.Yes, it's pricey but 100% worth it if you care about your dog's well being. It doesn't take much to work up a lather, so a 16oz bottle will last quite a while.

Medicated shampoo without sulfa.
Medicated shampoo, without sulfa, to use on older dogs who "contracted" sarcoptic mange was difficult to find. This shampoo seemed to work well enough to provide thorough cleaning prior to a dip without obvious risk of reaction to sulfa for me. I have used it to a limited degree, however..only once on each of two indoor dogs. Follow-up will be required.

Virbac pyoben shampoo
Our dog unfornately was born with mange. We have gotten this shampoo through our vet and it works great for her skin. The only problem with buying through the vet is you are getting a 4 oz bottle for an outrageous price. So glad I found this on amazon because I can get a much bigger bottle and it will last longer.
