I bought MantleMount for two different homes and it functioned flawlessly in both. The mount supports the TV and raises and lowers easily. People generally think the mount is more complex than it really is, and they are surprised to learn that it's easy to mount.

Very pricey, but it is rock solid. It hold our 83" TV with no issues and I feel very comfortable moving such a large TV around with it. The installation instructions were very clear and easy to follow.

It took my wife and I four hours to install. So like many other reviews state, be ready to spend time installing. Instructions could be improved if hardware packet numbers didn't have inconsistencies with the instructions and if the instructions stated the allen wrench or socket size for each step.Adjusting the tension, one of the last steps, is really hard. You're gonna feel like you're doing it wrong or that it isn't working, but eventually the tension adjusts and your tv can stay lowered without the safety bolt. It's a 1/2" socket.It definitely pulls the TV off the wall a good bit, which is great if you have a deep mantle, but not ideal if your mantle is less than 8" deep.The TV is further away from the wall when in the up position, than I would prefer.Overall, it works great, is very substantial, does what is says it does and you can't see the mount when the TV is in the up position.

Product is working as designed, however there is a lot of "bulk behind the mount. This is OK as long as you are approaching the mount from head on or maybe 45 degree angle. However if your fireplace is directly in view of your front door entry way, well you may want to A) strongly consider the recessed box option if you can or B) maybe not do it until you see someone else's side view when installed.Also of note is DO NOT USE OnTech service to install it. Get someone to help you and try it yourself or get some other intstall it. OnTech mounted mine at the wrong height (too high). Of course they lowered it to where it should have gone in the first place but it was too late and I was left with 2 very nice pre-drilled holes in my 2 month old house on my now not so nice looking ship lap fireplace wall. I could have screwed it up myself for free. Also I bought the MM700 and the sound bar mount is a bit of a joke. It asks you to screw in to your sound bar. Most (especially Bose) sound bars do not have that capability. So be aware of that. I still gave the product 4 stars because as designed it is a good solution, but the bulk in the back and the not so good sound bar mount kept it from being a 5 at the price point your paying.

This mount turned out to be exactly what we needed. We had to have a professional install it for us, who did a great job by the way, and it turned out great. The unit performs as described. It's easy to maneuver and tilts left and right easily. We mounted a Sonos soundbar below the mount with no problem. Great unit.

This product does NOT work on our Samsung TV. Of course, we weren't able to figure that out until after taking down the TV from its old mount and then spending hours trying to affix the sound bar that won't fit because the stupid rails shipped with the mount are not long enough. Of course, we had already mounted the wall bracket and damaged the wall before we figured this out, so now what doe we do? Buyer beware: this does NOT work with all TVs. There should be a list of incompatible TVs or a compatibility listing on the description. Very disappointed in this product and, even if it did work, it's WAY overpriced for a simple frame and a single hydraulic cylinder.

My wife did could not figure out why I wanted to install initially, but this is a game changer.75” Frame TV above mantel on stone fireplace.Looks great as art above mantel when not watching TV. Couch fairly close to the TV soot would be uncomfortable so high. Now, it is very easy to get in perfect viewing position whenever sitting down with the family.
