Go to gtdaudio.net and search for 787 **Q: What kind of rechargeable batteries can you use in this unit, they can be used because I try Duracell but they are a little fat and someone broke one.** A: ** DO NOT DO NOT ** Use rechargeable batteries in microphones (or any device) that uses standard batteries!! Standard batteries are 1.5volts. Rechargeable are 1.2 volts. So if you microphone uses two batteries, it is working with 3 volts. However, if you are using rechargeable batteries, you are only giving it 2.4 volts which means it may have reduced range and cause other problems, as 2.4 volts is like weak regular batteries. When someone like Shure provides a rechargeable battery pack option, the pack is actually containing THREE batteries in the pack - even though it fits into a two battery compartment thereby providing 3.6 volts for a 3 volt device.
