Ring Stretcher Size Enlarger Jewelry Sizing Tool Rathburn Wedding Bands Sizer Rathburn Ring Stretcher For Resizing Rings. This is a new Rathburn ring stretcher. It can quickly enlarge plain bands. Simply tapping the end spreads the outer mandrel and stretches the ring. This is used for wedding bands size 8 to 15. A Ring Stretcher, a basic way to enlarge jewelry rings, is the most economical and simplest method to stretch rings and it is easy to use. The Rathburn fixture consists of 2 parts, a steel Collet Multi-Stepped Mandrel and Tapered Pin Expander. Place the ring on the stepped collet, choose the size that the rings fits onto, then place the expansion collet on the wooden base. Now insert the Tapered Pin Rod and gently tap the tapered steel Pin by using a mallet or hammer (light Impact). Make sure not to oversize the ring, and cause it to break apart. Mandrel can be removed by simply tapping the opposite end. Note: Care must be taken whenever stretching a ring. Tool is not to be used with stone set rings, thin shanks, inspect for any solder joints that may break apart when stretching. Tool works well with Bands, may need to anneal to soften the ring to afford expansion of the metal. Generally this tool fixture will not expand more than 1 finger size. It works
I have a ring that was a half size too small. It didn't come with instructions. But after a watched a tutorial on you tube I was able to utilize it and now my ring fits perfectly. Very impressed.

Does the job for the price
Bought this to upsize a couple old wedding bands and it did the job. My only complaints are that the tool was very roughly made with burrs on the outside that will scratch the inside of your rings. I did my best to file down and sand the burrs before using it which helped. I also found that lubricating the tool with vaseline helped reduce scratching. One other complaint is that after using the tool, it becomes deformed and doesn't return to it's closed position so I had to use pliers to bend it back to a smaller size again. I suspect it might break after doing this a number of time. For sizing a ring or two, it works just fine.

breaks golden ring instead of stretching
I bought this product to loosen my gold as my ring was tight. When I stretched, my ring broke. I do not recommend this product. Give to a jewelry store, they charge little cost to stretch gold ring.

Worked well for me
Just needed to loosen my wedding band by about a 1/2 size and this did the job!

Great value
Used it you amend my wedding band, making it round and increased the size by about 1.5 steps on the tool. Worked fine no heating, I did remove and reverse it a few times as I went.
