Samsonite Ascella X Softside Expandable Luggage with Spinners, Teal, 2PC SET (Carry-on/Medium)

Bought this suitcase to replace an older Samsonite and like how much lighter it is. I use it for personal and business use. Easily pack clothes for a week with varying temperatures. The interior pockets work nicely for my needs. Able to organize more than I could before. Rolls like a dream. Handle is sturdy. Wheels became the issue with my old one after approx. 15 years.

I use this for travel within the US, for 3-4 day trips, even 2 weeks when staying with family. I even used it for a 10 day trip a couple times to Italy. This Samsonite is well designed, spins and maneuvers perfectly and has a zippered expansion so you can get more in! This is my 3rd one over the years. First and 2nd ones I bought (light tan, and a dark brown) were much cheaper at Marshall's retail store. Passed those down to my son then bought this one as I wanted black. This model has been modified in a good way - diffent sized pockets on outside and the compartments changed a little on the inside. Love the layout and quality.

This was purchased to replace the same make and model bag that i had used for years, but the pull out handle failed on it. This is, IMHO, the perfect carry on bag. I find that if I can get the zippers to close, no matter how much I have stuffed in the bag, that it will fit in the overhead bin of a 737 (the plane I fly most in). The wheels don't look very tough, but we will see. They don't look as beefy as those that were on my old bag; time will tell.

Bought the 20 inch similar to our old Samsonite roller bags from many years ago. Great bag - survived an overseas trip fine. Lightweight (in a good way) bag with zipper to expand the packable volume. Fits easily in overhead compartment. The only problem is that after about a year of moderately heavy use (once a month?), 1 wheel fell off. See photo. Bag still works & rolls ok but we wanted better.

We already have Samsonite luggage and travel by air a lot, which is why I went for more Samsonite luggage when we needed another suitcase to check for an upcoming trip. First, if you aren’t a well seasoned air traveler, let me tell you that the junky American Traveler suitcases do NOT hold up like these. So if you are debating brands, get this one. Second, if you are NOT debating brands and rather debating sizes, I will say I’m a little nervous about our purchase. We bought this 29” checked bag. I already had what I thought was the “large” checkable bag from Samsonite… see the black suitcase in the picture. This black suitcase can hold about exactly 50lbs when stuffed pretty full as long as you don’t go heavy on the bricks. For this reason, I absolutely loved this size. I have never had an issue with making it overweight, which is nice to not have to stress out about that. Our airline we fly with a lot has a weight limit of 55lbs and 62”. Unfortunately I must have some measuring problems, because this suitcase is a few inches too big. I’m not sure if we will have to pay extra for oversized luggage or not… In taking probably 100 flights in my life, I’ve only had an airline MEASURE (not weigh) luggage once… and it was hand luggage. And it was a maiden voyage. I think the size is very noticeable and awkward to move around. I think lifting is going to be rough. And even though we can pack 55lbs vs 50lbs, I think we wont be able to fill this very full, which is actually probably going to shorten its lifespan - getting crushed in transport etc. Fingers crossed this works out. UPDATE AFTER TRAVELING - this giant bag is great! Once again, our main airlines weight restriction is at 55lbs and we had no problems. We are getting ready to fly another airline that has a limit of 50lbs but no dimensional requirements so we are probably going to take this.

Finally decided to join the upright rolling club and I don't know why I waited so long! Love these! Been a few trips and there's a lil stuff on the big one; but nothing stays new forever. Good buy

So I got this a year ago and bought it because I had other Samsonite luggage that I’ve had for a good 10 years. This set doesn't live up yo Samsonite quality and stuck with it at this point. First one of the zipper pulls just came right off as if I shaved it off when I pulled it. Then another pulled tab came off and finally a third one came off. I started the warranty process amd sent pictures. They said I had to deliver the luggage to one of their dealers, which is about 40 minutes away from me, amd then they would charge me $20 to ship it yo NY. After contacting them I was told I could pay to ship it to them directly. If they found it didn’t fall under the warranty I would have to pay to have it shipped back in for the repair. I sent them pictures and yet they still couldn’t tell me if it fell under warranty the idea of having to pay at least $40 to ship it back-and-forth for them to tell me if it under warranty was insane I’ll be better off buying new suitcases.

Didn't even have this for a year and the handle stopped pushing up and down. This happened when I was on a trip and we had to jam the handle back down so I could check my luggage on the plane. It never came back up. Spend a bit extra and you can get a way better quality bag than this.

Rolls well, lightweight, looks great, nice colour. It will also hopefully be easy to spot on a luggage carousel. It is a...bit...larger ...than I thought, however! I could actually fit in it myself!
