Great selection of ideas to go with each lesson across all 4 levels plus the primers. It also gives background info on McGuffey’s methods, gauging reading level, teaching spelling, etc. For under $10, I have a comprehensive teacher guide that will last my children from preschool all the way through graduating high school. No other language arts curriculum comes close! FYI- Will NOT work with the Revised edition from the later 1800’s, as each lesson guide is specific to the lesson in the originals. Review: Excellent Teacher Resource Book - There is no doubt that this is an excellent resource for teachers--a real complement to my boxed set of McGuffey Readers purchased from desertcart.com. My only wishes are that all 6 of the McGuffey Readers, not just 4 of them, had been included in the teacher's edition; and, that comprehension had been treated more thouroughly, such as giving the specific answers to the textbook questions following the stories in the Readers. This would help to promote independent study and accuracy, etc. However, the book itself is still a great contribution to the classroom. Try it!

If you are using the ORIGINAL McGuffey’s Eclectic Readers (1836) this guide is an amazing help! Great selection of ideas to go with each lesson across all 4 levels plus the primers. It also gives background info on McGuffey’s methods, gauging reading level, teaching spelling, etc. For under $10, I have a comprehensive teacher guide that will last my children from preschool all the way through graduating high school. Excellent Teacher Resource Book
There is no doubt that this is an excellent resource for teachers--a real complement to my boxed set of McGuffey Readers purchased from Amazon.com. Your roadmap to using these great old books
This has been a huge help in creating a curriculum for my kindergartner. First, the grade levels are broken down for each of the books, and suggestions for phonics are given. If you are teaching your child and area inditimidated as I was about not having a printed curriculum, this is your answer! Everything is explained and suggestions are given to make give you the teacher the background you need to use these old books to their best.
