50 Essays: A Portable Anthology Fifth Edition

I bought this book brand new and received it unpackaged, bent out of shape and covered in something crusty. The shipping was good and is the only reason I would ever give this one star.Update:I’ve barely even opened the book and a bunch of pages fell out.Update: January 28thLiterally half the book has come out. I have to repurchase it now.

As an instructor, I love to teach our of this book. The readings are fantastic and the exercises after the readings make great classroom activities. My only complaint is that the book is rather cheap and the pages start to fall out the more you use it. I wish they would upgrade the binding to prevent this.

I received this book in 3 days and also the condition was very good. However, if you are planning to buy 4th edition of this book, you should go for that. Because 3-4 essays are different in this book comparing to the 4th edition.

This book was purchased for summer reading for my daughter’s upcoming AP English class. The book is a little pricey for a new soft cover book but it was even more expensive in the traditional brick and mortar book store so I was happy to get an almost ten dollar price break. The book shipped quickly as well which was great! Definitely recommend buying this book new through Amazon!

Book is in a Poot condition, I feel that the cover is very fragile almost loose, the cover has several signs of use other than that is readable.

The kindle version is missing one article that was needed for my class: Sherman Alexie, "The Joy of Reading and Writing". If it was specified that it was omitted from the kindle version, I would have just went to my school's book store in the first place instead of running out the last minute just to get my work done.
