BroadLink RM4 PRO+ HTS2 IR/RF Version Wireless Universal Remote Hub with Temp and Humidity Sensor Smart Home Solution

I don’t normally write reviews. When I do, it’s because the product is either really bad or really good. In this case, it’s really good! This little gadget converted all my remote controlled dumb devices into smart devices. I can now turn on and off my tvs, surround sound audio unit and my air conditioner via Alexa Voice command. The app controls are also a great backup as a universal remote control. I also programmed a RF plugin switch remote to this app so i can reboot my cameras if the signals get lost. I’m very impressed with this app and hardware!

I have one of these and it's worked great so I ordered another one. This time I can't get it to set up and connect to the SAME NETWORK! The set up just keeps failing over and over (VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!). I tried on 2 Samsung phones (I don't want to hear about how some devices have trouble connecting via Samsung phones, they are the most popular android brand, figure it out!) I also tried a budget Motorola phone with the exact same results. I no longer recommend this device or brand and I'm actively looking for a replacement for both. This is so maddening! QR code setup is not supported by this device even though that's the first thing you see in the packing. Long pressing for 5 and 10 seconds to get it to continue set up fails too. GARBAGE!!!!

Didn't work for me. I had to return it... Unfortunately. Would not connect to device.

Product took more time then I was hoping to set up to work my Comfort Aire AC/Heat Unit. This is a in wall or window unit that is an AC and HEAT Pump. The issue was I can not change modes because the remote on my phone does not show the dispay on the main remote. I was able to contol turing it on and off if needed. Set unit to 68 and can monitor the temp from the thermomitor corded on the Broadlink wire. (that was a option )

Easy Configuration, working with Alexa, i have my lennox air conditioner woking without problems.

Consider myself technically savvy and still there was issues with last part of connection which was “the APP connecting to the BroadLink Unit.” This product (BroadLink RM4 Pro + HTS2 IR/RF) doesn’t provide clear instructions, so you would have to have some understanding to program. Lastly, there isn’t a customer support # to contact, you would have to email them with your issue. Returned.

I'm very tech-savvy and have tons of smart home devices. I thought adding this device was a no brainer and would make all of my IR and RF devices able to port onto my Google home setup. This is after all what the device is sold to do. However, I have not been able to add ANY devices. Even wifi devices that are on the same network as the device can't be found. The app is a joke. The device can be used as a simple paper weight and that's about it. I'm not sure how this device is still sold with all the claims of what it does, but does not do. Don't waste your money.
