I actually prefer this over regular coffee! I work night shift, and I’ve noticed that it gives me a nice energy boost without the jittery feeling I usually get from coffee. It’s been a great addition to my night shift routine and tastes pretty good too.

I like what Four Sigmatic is doing here. This review is for the variety I ordered - Think (with Lion’s Mane).To be quite honest, I stumbled across this product while looking for lower priced alternatives to Mudwtr. I’d seen a few ads for Mudwtr and wanted to check it out. Until I saw the price, that is. Mudwtr is a little over $7 an ounce (!), while the Four Sigmatic blend is a little over $1 an ounce. A pretty significant price difference, I’d say.I have not tried Mudwtr because of the excessive price. I like the idea of it and support what they are doing, but I am a heavy coffee drinker. I have worked swing shift for over 27 years and have given up soda and sweetened beverages. However, I drink a lot of coffee. It doesn’t seem to affect my sleep much, and I have way less adverse effects from caffeine than sugar, but…I know that caffeine is not good for anyone in large amounts and that we should all cut back or eliminate it from our diets. I’ve been on a kick where I’m trying to eat and drink healthier to try to avoid more health problems as I age.So back to the coffee. Cutting back hasn’t worked too well because I need something to stay awake all hours of the day and night, and most of the caffeine alternatives are worse for me than drinking coffee. Mudwtr sounds like a great idea because it is supposed to look like coffee and taste good but only have mushrooms and adaptogens in it - an energy booster without the coffee and caffeine and all of the associated side effects. But it runs about $2 a cup - a little too expensive for me to sustain in the long term. I love the idea of it, but I’d have to cut down to one cup every day or two.The Four Sigmatic coffee is much more affordable. It comes out to less than 30 cents per cup. It also claims to give you the energy boosting and sharp focus effects of coffee without the adverse side effects. However, it has coffee blended with mushrooms (or is it the other way around?) instead of a non coffee blend. I found it to be pretty much as advertised. It looks and tastes like regular coffee. As mentioned earlier, I tried the Lion’s Mane blend, and it was excellent. Wouldn’t know it had mushrooms in it from the taste - just a regular medium dark roast. The claims of all the benefits with no drawbacks seems to be valid as well.But…… you can get a really good bag of coffee for $1 an ounce. I usually drink Folger’s Classic Roast, and I can get a 3 pound can of that for $11. That works out to about 23 cents per ounce which works out to 6-7 cents per cup, depending on how strong I make it. I know money isn’t everything, but it does seem to make the world go round, and I never seem to have as much as I’d like.So, as much as I’d like to make this coffee my daily driver, I don’t think I’ll be able to because of the price. For now it is my “day off” or “special occasion” coffee. There may be a day when I can switch to drinking it full time without cutting corners somewhere else (like buying less produce for example). Five stars for the product, I’m deducting one for the price. That’s just for me, though. I’d say if you can afford it, go for it, or try the Mudwtr even. I’m going to continue to swap this out with the Folgers and try to get the bag to last a while. Then, I’m going to try the Laird Superfood coffee which is similar to this one but a bit cheaper.

I've been a fan of Mushroom Coffee for 8 years now and have tried almost everything out there. I have learned 4 very important things to look out for when choosing the best mushroom coffee:1. Taste2. Dosage3. Quality4. ValueHere’s the breakdown of my thoughts on Four Sigmatic Ground Coffee:1) TASTE:Overall taste is excellent - the beans are roasted nicely, and the flavor is smooth with a hint of chocolate notes, so I’m very happy with the taste.2) DOSAGE:This part is extremely important, because if you’re going to incorporate functional mushrooms into your routine you need to know how much of each mushroom you are putting in your body and this can be the hardest information to derive from many brands. In doing my own research I’ve found that you want at least 500mg of one strain to see any benefits. Four Sigmatic only uses 2 mushrooms, Lion’s Mane and Chaga. However, the dosage amount is not stated anywhere on the packaging, and because it’s just coffee beans, I can’t even begin to guess. It could be fractions of what a normal dose should be.3) QUALITY:Four Sigmatic uses 100% fruiting bodies, which is the purest form of mushroom extract and what I look for in my mushroom coffee.4) VALUE: The quality seems good, but there is no clear statement on the dosage of mushroom extract per serving which makes the value very low for me.Right now, I use Lucid as my main morning routine coffee and Four Sigmatic on my downtime as maintenance. Four sigmatic makes me feel good, however I feel much more effects with Lucid because 1) It delivers a much higher dose of 4 mushrooms at 2,000mg total 2) It has a nootropic stack (fuel for your brain) 3) It uses 100% fruiting body mushroom extract (the highest quality possible). Plus, it tastes great. Four sigmatic will stay in my rotation for chill days because it’s cheap, but I turn to Lucid when I need to operate at peak performance. Remember to keep these tips in mind and always read the label!

Brain fog was real for me. I had read that many coffee brands contain mold. After lots of research I stumbled on Foursigmatic. They 3rd party test for mold. Knowing it’s safe from mold is a big deal for me, as I drink coffee everyday. It is by far the best mushroom coffee I’ve tried. Great taste, enough caffeine to get me through the day and has greatly enhanced my mental clarity. It’s now a weekly but for me.

Really like this coffee! It tastes like good regular coffee (no mushroom taste at all). When I brewed it my husband didn't even notice it was mushroom coffee, but did notice it didnt have the sweet vanilla flavor the other coffee he likes does. But the health benefits are good and the coffee is smoothe, the only wish I have is that it was higher caffeine. I saw 250mg in listed in the specifications for caffine, but apparently this is not their high caffeine coffee so that confused me. Apparently this one only has 150 mg. I am trying their high caffeine coffee next though!

Was absolutely loving my Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee with Lions Mane & Chaga.Unfortunately, the first delivery arrived with a small tear in the coffee bag. Disappointing, as I was looking forward to trying it and since this damaged packaging would likely have affected the taste of the coffee I chose to dispose of it on my compost heap.The damaged bag was swiftly refunded by Amazon. Waited another day for my replacent order to arrive. Having been a Lavazza or Illy coffee drinker for a number of years I did not expect this coffee with mushrooms to taste anywhere as good. Well what a surprise! Using an espresso machine it makes a fantastic coffee with a great crema, resembling a well poured pint of Guinness.Benefits of Lions Mane & Chaga, maybe too early to say after 4 coffees. Will update review if any noticeable effect is observed but rest assured there is no mushroom taste and I would definitely purchase again. 👍Have had this on subscribe & save but had to cancel due to the repeated problem with damaged bags. Some of the bags I purchased are "vacuum type sealed" IE. The bag comes as a firm block without any air in the packaging, but have now received multiple orders that are apparently damaged and air is present. Any coffee lover will know that exposure to air will cause the coffee to degrade and change the flavour. Disappointed at this price as I loved this coffee. Am now looking for an alternative to Four Sigmatic or maybe I just need to find an alternative supplier to Amazon that stores perishable goods correctly? 🤔
