Is the tape itself 24" long or does it measure up to 24" dia parts? Thank you

It wraps around the circumference of and measures the diameter of round objects between 2 and 24 inches in diameter. So, it is actually like 8 or 9 feet long. The graduations on it are in inches of diameter and it has a vernier scale allowing you to measure down to 0.001" increments. You cannot measure a straight line with it.

Spring Steel that is calibrated to ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards. Spring Steel & Ferritic stainless is generally magnetic, Austenitic Stainless generally is not. All are subject to temperature changes when you go out to 0.0001 or more.
