Works great for controlling shower head flow if you have a shower with only a single handle for temperature control. It is all metal (feels weighty and high quality) and the valve operates super smoothly. I was pleasantly surprised that it is able to completely shut off flow with no drips, as other shower head valves I have tried only go down to a trickle. We have a handheld shower head and this just threaded right on between the hose and the head--very easy installation, all standard sizes so no need for adapters. It's been great for reducing the water pressure when showering, as well as quickly turning the water on and off when cleaning/rinsing the shower itself.

I added this control valve to our two showers, and they are working well. It was just a hand-tighten thing for me, no issues at all. We have the detachable shower heads, and it's just real nice to reduce and/or stop the flow of water when/if needed.

I have the type of shower control that adjusts the temperature, but cannot control the volume of water. That means that the flow of water is always on full pressure. This item enables me to control the flow of water and does it well. It seems to be solidly constructed for the long haul and gives me a wide range of control. I placed it between the supply hose and the handheld shower head. If you have similar shower setup, this is well worth the small expense.

I used the teflon tape around the threads, hand tightened, quarter of a turn with wrench, checked for leaks, tighten slightly as needed until no leaks. Easy. I like using the shut-off feature while bathing my dogs so it keeps the temperature & flow the same & doesn't waste water. I do the same when washing/scrubbing my hair. It appears to be durable & of good quality but time/use will tell. It's ideal for residential & rv showers, especially when need to limit water use. I highly recommend it.

If what you need is an easy-to-use, one-handed, shut-off valve for a shower wand - this is a great valve (my wife loves it, and so do many people who have to shampoo pets and need the other hand free to hold the pet's harness). As always, make sure the threads on your fittings will mate with this valve! Made in U.S.A. shower wands typically mate up fine and still fit into the shower wand holder. The valve has a metal body with a ceramic disc that rotates to throttle or shut-off water flow, and simple rubber seals along with a debris screen. With hard use, water will eventually start weeping past a worn disc and seals - but these valves are cheap enough that you just replace them. Unlike plastic body valves, this valve will not break when you bang it around. Fit and finish on the valves I received is good (also, no sharp edges on the operating lever). However, I would not recommend this valve as your primary shut-off valve - as it does not positively lock down on a seat when you close it under pressure - like a plumbing ball valve or globe valve. So, I would always have a primary up-stream shut-off valve for when the shower system is not being used.
