I love love my Garmin Edge 520 Plus - and I like the mount that it came with that puts it out ahead of my handlebars, easily visible when riding. But I have two bikes and it only came with one mount - enter this mount from Thinvik. For a very reasonable price, it’s just as good as the mount that came in the box and roughly the same size/shape. It works perfectly with my Edge 520 Plus, is easy to install and easy to mount the 520 unit. It seems good quality and that it will be durable. And really, what else can you ask a mount to do?

It’s a marvel how simple these are to install and that they actually work. Great technology.

I needed two specific things in an out-front mount for a new, high-end eBike. First, it had to be thin enough to work around all of the fixed cabling on the bikes handlebars. Second, it had to securely hold my Garmin Edge in all sorts of touring conditions. This Thinvik mount did both things well. I had no trouble attaching the mount to the fat bars on the new bike, and routing around the cabling was no problem, thanks to the Thinvik mount's slim profile. Then last week I was able to test the integrity of the mount. I took the bike on a five-day tour of rural Indiana and Kentucky that included backroads that were so bumpy that I lost one water bottle. My Garmin Edge remained solidly locked in. The other thing that I like about the Thinvik mount is that it costs a fraction of the Garmin version of the same mount.

Good value for one third the price of the Garmin bracket. This will meet almost all cyclist’s needs, but definitely lower quality than the original item, which I also own. The bracket worked well on a bumpy 55 mile ride, holding my Garmin Edge 800 tight, and would do the same for the 500 series. It might not fare well off-road, or with the larger 1000 series. This was a real upgrade from the rubber band style mount. Buy one it’s worth it.

However, not all devices with a garmin mount may end up in the correct position. If you are buying this to mount a battery back up for your phone or gps, buy the battery back up without a garmin mount and then purchase the adhesive backed garmin mounts. That way you can position the cable as needed, without having to buy extention cables.

Would definitely buy again. Easy installation and holds Garmin head unit securely. Includes Allen Wrench. Not quite as refined as the OEM Garmin mount, but really, really close... and much cheaper. A great value.
