Well..... it took me two tries because I have no coordination and I was being a perfectionist. Perfect is the enemy of really good in this case (once again!). The first one I got on the radio was great except for one small bubble that I bet would go away after a while but big dummy here had to try for 100% as 99% was not good enough. I'm an idiot! This screen protector fits the screen pretty well but it does not cover it 100%. I have a feeling it is designed this way because the extreme edges of the screen curve a bit and the protector would not work there. This was much easier than the other brand protector I tried first. The peel off protectors make it easy to get on without getting fingerprints on everything. I would think for most folks it should work well. Make sure to have good light and wash your hands well before working on it. Don't do it if you are tired or short on patience! 73 DE N5WRW

The screen on the Icom ID-52A is slightly curved at the edges. This semi-rigid protector does not cover the screen fully to try and mitigate this issue. Unfortunately, I was unable to position the protector so it could lay entirely flat. At least one edge would not touch the screen. Pressure and hair dryer heat did not help. The quality was good and seller upheld their responsibility but the product has a fatal flaw.

When I was buying this for the new Icom ID 52A, I only found one review, and it was not so good, but I could not find too many options out there, so I took a chance on it. The bad review that I found was someone saying it did not fit the ID-52A, so I wanted to leave this review along with a photo showing the way it fits. (Hopefully you’ll be able to see the outlines) Does it fit the screen perfectly? No, but it fits the screen well enough. Maybe in more time when this radio has been out for longer, there will be screen protectors out that are made to fit the ID 52A perfectly, but for now this is pretty good. It covers the portion of the screen that I do not want to get scratched. Worth noting, it’s not like the glass covers that we put on our phones. It is a flexible piece of soft plastic, but I get the impression it will do a good job protecting the screen, and it has for the week I’ve had it on. Whatever you do, if you buy the ID 52A get something to protect the screen because it will scratch extremely easy.

The product itself is decent and it a good idea for the ID-52 handheld, since the screen is relatively soft and easily scratched. However, the screen on this unit isn’t perfectly suited for protection like this, as the top edge is slightly curved. This makes the top edge of the protector lift up slightly from the screen, allowing dirt to get in.

It’s like most other screen protector kits but it doesn’t fully cover the display on the ID-52a. It will help to keep the display from getting scratched but it doesn’t fit perfectly for this radio.

After paying $600 for a radio and reading that the number one problem people have with it is scratching the screen, spending a few bucks on a screen protector seems like a no-brainer. It fit very nicely. Although, the alcohol swab was bone dry. I just used something else to clean the screen. I care more about the protector and not the swab. However, something to be aware of. Otherwise, a good fit. Nice protection.

This doesn’t cover the entire screen, and leaves a noticeable un-adhered stip at the top due to the curve of the screen which will get dust, hair, etc trapped in it and will eventually cause the protector to peel off. Seems like the manufacturer did not measure the screen properly for this one. I’d avoid.

This screen protector is a perfect fit for the Icom ID-52A handheld radio. It’s an exact fit for the screen on the radio. I usually don’t have patience for things like this, but the directions are simple to follow and I got great results. I’m very happy with this purchase.
