We live in south Florida on an 1/8 acre lot surounded by canals and this is the catch from the first 2 weeks. I'll be collecting 2 week samples to see if the catch declines over time. I'm still getting bit in the yard and to many variables to consider to be able to say if the machine was worth the cost. It's very expensive and if it was half the price I'd be buying one for all my neighbors. Between propane and attractant you also carry an on going cost of around 25/month to run it.

Works great WHEN it worked. First tank of gas the unit worded fine. Took forever for the second one to light. I have tried on and off for months since and it just wont light. POS I had on very similar to this but it had a solar panel, worked for about 15 years and was awesome.

We’ve been using got a couple of weeks and have seen a definite reduction in mosquitos. Also we see the little bugs in the net, so we know it is working. It is expensive but worth it. We opted for the battery version without electric cord so we could place it anywhere in the yard. It holds a good charge and is easy to recharge. It was easy to put together . It does take up space and is hard to hide but we put close to trees and bushes so that helps mask it. Very quiet Worth it!

I've purchased two of these units. For the first year or two, this product worked great. It would capture a ton of mosquitos and it was very easy and simple to operate. However, in year 2, this is where the problems would start. They would range everywhere from a faulty ignitor, clogged carburetor, damaged regulator valve, etc. The challenge is that all of these problems would have occur a month or two after the 1-year warranty. It's too bad because it's such a good product when it's new, it just doesn't last very long at all.

I have been using these several of these units for 15 seasons. When they run, they can catch a lot of mosquitos and make your backyard livable. Because of this I mostly forgave the finicky and unreliable nature of the units. However, I recently bought a new unit from another local merchant. I have tried for the past month to get it to start and stay running, even after substantial effort and troubleshooting on my end (using battery and propane tanks that work on my other unit) and calls into their support. At this point their customer support says I need to get warranty service from a 3rd party, here's a list of servicers, good luck! The first one I called on the list said they do not do warranty service because the company won't pay them for their time!!!!. The Mosquito Magnet company doesn't even have its own service center anymore, so you are left calling a random list of companies to see if one can help, and reexplaining the whole problem yet again. In the past I have had both warranty and non-warranty service performed directly by the company's factory. Apparently, they changed their "policy" last September and no longer offer factory service. In my mind they don't really want to sell this product anymore and I'm just a sucker buying out their remaining inventory. My local retailer is trying to help get a refund, and I have no intentions are supporting this company or product with any of my business in the future.
