I'm being asked to rate a non-existant feature by Amazon; there is NO cord length to this style of surge protector. It looks like your basic 3 prong plug adapter with a blue light on it. However, it does keep my lawnmower safe during power outages, including the power spikes that follow when power is restored. It supports a 15 amp power cord and allows my friend who does my yard work to garden with peace of mind. To me that makes it priceless and well worth the money I spent on it.

Great for all electronic equipment with sensitive/expensive control boards. I use on garage door opener, ,microwaves, refrigerators, ice makers. Would use on TVs, computers, routers and stereos but I already have a UPS on those.

Electrician suggested a power surge protector in line with our garage door openers (because the electrician did not install with GFI protection). This was an inexpensive and simple solution.

Only 4 stars because I have only been using it for a very short time and don't know if it will really work for my needs. Hopefully this will prevent my internet router from getting zapped by the lightning during our afternoon storms here in North Florida that happen almost daily in summertime. I like the little light on the side to show it is still working. Also, the fact that it doesn't block the other outlet plug.

While I wish they provided more Joules (490 vs 2000) for protection, these work just great. Fit into tight spaces and have a bright blue status light. I used them for my garage door openers, sprinkler control unit and cordless home phones. I would buy them again.
