PHILIPS LED 60W A19 4-Pack Ultra Definition Soft White LED Light Bulbs (2700K) 800 Lumen (8W = 60W) Dimmable Clear Flicker-Free Light Bulbs

I have not received anything in any form for this review, I bought and and paid for these bulbs with my own money, without any reimbursement before or after purchase and review, not even a coupon. I bought a 40 watt bulb of a different type and brand not long ago, and all of a sudden I started getting headaches. I know it sounds funky, but I don't usually get headaches. I started thinking about my daily routines, what I have been eating and drinking, and etc, The only thing different was that light bulb. I know it sounds hinky, but I absolutely can't find anything else that was different, Welllllll, that started my research nose twitching. So I started looking up how light can affect your health. Bingo! I found a lot. The flicker rate, color temperature, and the Color Rendering Index have a whole LOT to do with health effects. I read articles, and research papers, and yeah, I watched YouTube videos for ahhh, maybe a day, or a day and a half. Once I get my teeth in something I wring out as much info as I can find. I had ordered an incandescent. It was delivered on February 21, 2025. I put it in my little desk lamp, and turned it on. I thought nothing more about it. I use that lamp on my desk to light the room. I cannot stand bright glaring lights shining down on me. I turn the lamp to reflect off an off white wall, and it gives me all the light I need. If I need to read something I just have to twist the gooseneck and point it at the book or paper that I need to read, and I can control the way the light illuminates exactly how I need it. Well it took a couple of days I think, and I started getting headaches. I wondered where they cam from, I'm not usually a headache person, It's unusual enough for me to go through the hassle of figuring out why, No change in diet, not drinking more coffee, not eating anything different, no different cleaning supplies, no new fabrics. I could not find anything, Except the light bulb. Well, I have been researching since then, and I am convinced that the light bulb I had been using was the problem, I watched a few videos along with reading the research papers on light, check out MedCram on YouTube for a real licensed medical doctor on sunlight, and red light, infrared, and near infrared light, on health. Boy that's an eye opener for sure. I also watched a series of videos where a bunch of bulbs were tested with meters, for everything from flicker rate, to color spectrum, light temperature, and the Color Rendering Index. All of these are important if you want the best sun like light you can get to enhance your health, especially if you spend a lot of time indoors. I encourage you to look at this information, there is more information than I can write here. You can read, look and listen as many times as you need to to get the information straight in your head. Anyway an March 8, 2025 I ordered these bulbs, They arrived today, I immediately opened the package, and put one in my little lamp. I kid you not the headache is mostly gone. The 60 watt bulb is just right, It has a bright WARM light, not a stark harsh white light, so it is not hard on the eyes, The temperature is 2700 Kelvin, which helps keep the blue spiking in the light spectrum, that LED lights are known form, to a low level. 2700 - 3000 k temp is very early morning light. 4000 k is between very early morning light and before noon. 5000 k is noon bright, and 6500 k is full sun at noon on cloudless days. Just keep in mind the higher the kelvin the MORE blue light it is emitting even if it is balanced by a spectrum of the colors. It's the blue light you want to avoid as much as possible because you get a lot of it, from phones, tv's, tablets, and computer screens. SO you want as close to natural sunlight as you can get. The High CRI means that all the other colors of sunlight are present also. So you are getting a full spectrum of light. Look a the color spectrum that shows on the meters in the videos, this bulb has a CRI index of 95! The only other bulbs I could find with that high a CRI were 2 companies, one was 19.00 each, the other was 100.00 for 4 bulbs. In order to get a 95 CRI it has to have all the colors not just one. Incandescent bulbs have a good CRI but it is skewed to the red side of the spectrum like most LED's have a lot of blue. And incandescent bulb DO flicker, watch the video and the meter testing. The one guy even tested for "dirty electricity" with an EMF meter and different bulbs showed different amounts. These bulbs are a good deal for what you get, the specs that rival a 19.00 bulb, the complete color spectrum, 800 or so lumens, low flicker rate, and low emf emission. Overall, I am very satisfied with these bulbs No more headaches! These bulbs are also glass, not plastic, so the look like an old fashioned incandescent bulb. I still say, don't take my word for it, look around for information and make up your own mind. I am giving these bulbs five stars for: form, function, and value for money,

I am (was) using these with the Lutron's latest consumer dimmer-- the Diva Smart Dimmer (DVRF-6L-WH-R). These bulbs have an amazing dimming range without flickering and a super high rated CRI. However, out of 8 that I bought, 5 have already started to die on me within 4 months. Each bulb first started to suddenly exhibit flickering and then eventually stopped turning on all the way, instead permanently looking dimmed. I've primarily had LED bulbs in my house for years. I've never had LED bulbs from any manufacturer die at this rate. I contacted Philips lighting (Signify) to make a warranty claim. They've refused to replace the bulbs and instead gave me a pointer to a PDF of a "dimming compatibility guide" which, unsurprisingly, doesn't list the latest Lutron dimmer at all. Moving the bulbs to another location with a supported dimmer doesn't help the situation-- the bulbs no longer work correctly. I love the bulbs when they work but am shocked Signify is unwilling to honor their warranty. If someone from Signify wants to understand the situation better-- including the refusal by Signify to acknowledge the product I received is defective-- feel free to review the communication that happened via ticket number 4383316. Update: I had foolishly bought a 3rd pack after seeing the initial failures hoping that it was just a bad batch. I am now at 12 bad bulbs out of 12. After seeing other recent reviews with similar failure rates, I'm surprised this product is still in the market.

swapped these into my bedroom fixtures specifically to combat eye strain and they make the entire space feel so much more grounded and comfortable. the ultra definition color spectrum is easily among the best on the consumer market, rendering wood grains and room textures naturally without that sterile, clinical wash you get from cheaper leds. zero high-frequency flicker, dead silent with no annoying driver whine, and it lacks the harsh blue spike that causes headaches when trying to wind down in the evening. the 60w output gives plenty of clean visibility while maintaining a soft, calming ambient glow. outstanding everyday bulbs if you care about lighting quality.

These are a rare LED bulb that does not give me eyestrain. They also are nice and small, so they can fit into smaller enclosures, AND they are rated for use in enclosed fixtures, also, which can be hard to find. They may not be the least expensive option out there, but they work better than most, so they are worth it.

I use them all throughout my house, all soft white variants, and they do the job perfectly. The lighting is very natural, they don't flicmer at all, and they sip power and only ever get warm to the touch. They are the exact size, shape, and profile of a traditional incandescent bulb, so much so that you can have a frosted incandescent bulb side by side with a frosted one of these and you'd be hard pressed to tell they were more than superficially different. When put on a dimmer, they even change to a warmer color tempurature the dimmer they go, so you can go from daylight to candlelight both in brightness and color. The only problem with them, is that over time, I guess the rectifier must burn out or something, because while they never flicker, which means the smoothing capacitor is plenty stable, they do lose strength over time, with very sharp transitions between stages. At first it'll start a little dimmer before clicking bright, then it stays that little bit dimmer more and more until it never goes fully bright, then the cycle repeats with it getting a little bit more dim than before, over and over until, by my testing just leaving one in the other half of a two socket fixture, it's eventually barely distinguishable from being completely off. It doesn't change that these are the best bulbs for lighting, but they aren't the best bulbs for keeping around indefinitely. I'm sure if I can figure out how to pop the electronics out of one without busting it, they could probably be repaired and improved to last indefinitely, but given the price, it's not too bad to just buy more. I'd still like to not have to, but they're too good otherwise to ignore.

I cannot believe I’m writing a review for a lightbulb, but these are something special. Genuinely the most migraine-friendly LED bulb I’ve ever used. (For context: I get chronic migraines, and Bright cold light and strobe effects are some of my main triggers. I also have annoyingly high perception of flicker effects). Dropped into some random desk lamp designed for incandescent bulbs, I expected there to be at least a little discernible flicker I’d have to deal with. But there’s NOTHING!! Genuinely, not even a hint of flicker!! It’s just this nice, soft, continuous glow like you’d get from an incandescent bulb!! The light is pleasant (bright without being harsh) and has a slight golden touch to it (distinctly warm, but not overly orange or yellow). Great color rendering too. The glass housing is a very nice touch. I bought these to use as a grow light for a desk plant (you can use any broad spectrum white light for plants). My “plant shelf” is the small overhead cubby that came built into my cubicle. I have a desk lamp rigged up inside with one of these bulbs. I’ve had the light powered continuously for over a week, and it is barely warm to the touch. Like lukewarm water temperature. This tells me the LED’s inside are being treated kindly (not running too hot). Plus, I can have it right up close to my plant (a pothos cutting that is just starting to root) with no fear of burning the leaves or making the ambient air too hot. The plant seems to enjoy it! I can’t comment on dimming because the lamp fixture I’m using doesn’t have dimming capability. So I don’t know if flicker effects become noticeable at low power, as is typical for LED’s. For beautiful lighting in a small space, Definitely worth every penny.

Okay so first these have great CRI which is effectively how accurate color are when the lights hits/deflects off objects. Back in the day when incandescent 60w bulbs were the norm we had perfect CRI and never thought anything of it and many early Philips LEDs were like 80 or so and even now there are tons of cheap bulbs sub 80 which is terrible. Now I've tried other cheap brands but have had by far the best luck with Philips when it comes to LED bulbs, there are some lights in my house on all the time and I still get years out of them. The longevity of these bulbs is not amazing, I've even had a couple straight out of the box new where the light is dim and very orange. I even thought it was my one fan fixture since I swapped a brand new bulb in and it was dim and terrible looking like the one I was replacing, then 40 minutes into that I was like hey why don't I just try it in another light fixture and yup it's the bulbs. Went through 8 bulbs in just under 2 years in only two light fixtures and neither of these ones are on all the time. I'm going to buy a 4 pack one more time since I originally ordered two 4 packs at once at the end of 2023. I'm wondering maybe if they just had a bad batch since I know Philips knows how to make led bulbs and to do it well.

Update: Four of 16 have failed. Either flickering or going dim orange. Installed in various fixtures around the house. Totally unacceptable to fail in less than 45 days. Philips customer service is terrible also. Taking days to weeks to respond. Amazon helped once at least but that was within my initial 30 day period. Like others, these bulbs seem to have a high failure rate out of the box. For me, it was 1 bulb out of 16 that was bad. It flickered a few times when turned on and then was stuck in orange mode. I contacted Phillips customer service via e-mail and three days later still no response. Amazon ended up having to make it right and they did A+. The bulbs that do work are great. The design is nice, the size is standard and fit all my fixtures. The brightness was as advertised also. Overall a good value if they last. I recorded my old Cree bulbs and these new Phillips bulbs at 240fps on my iPhone 14 Pro. I took 3 videos each. The Cree bulbs had tons of pulsing/flickering. The Phillips bulbs that maybe the tiniest amount of visual flicker on 1 of the 3 videos. I wanted the new Philips Ultra Efficient bulbs, but they are still priced a bit too high for outfitting a whole house. Overall 4 starts due to 1 failed bulb and non-existent customer service.

As lâmpadas são ótimas, no entanto, 1 caixa vejo com uma lâmpada quebrada e outra com defeito (acende só os filamentos de cor quente). Atualização: a base da lâmpada fica extremamente quente, a ponto de não poder ser tocada com os dedos; nesse aspecto, parece uma incandescente! Em certos momentos, a lâmpada pisca após algumas horas se uso, e isso é devido ao aquecimento excessivo. Tenho duas GE Relax HD de 10 W e elas não aquecem nem a metade do que as Ultra Definition aquecem.

Funcionan bien pero duran muy poco tiempo. No los volvería a comprar. Se averían los leds fríos. En esta foto los 4 focos son del mismo tipo.

These lamps are sold on the Amazon UK website and the voltage of 120V is not stated. I bought 10 and learned the hard way that they don't like 230V mains. They really should not be on the UK website and certainly not without warning. Amazon did refund me. Philips don't sell a 230V equivalent in the UK for some reason.
