We advise against using the pressure canner on an outdoor LP gas burner or gas range over 12,000 BTU's. It is important to ensure that the heat source is not excessively powerful, as it may affect the performance of the canner. Our canner is primarily designed for home use, and in some cases, outdoor ranges can generate excessive heat. To prioritize safety, it is necessary to maintain a lower heat setting when using the canner on such a burner.

What is the jar capacity of this canner for sizes up to half-gallon jars?

Accepted Answer

The official chart is for 1-2 levels depending on sizes of your jars: 7 quarts, 20 pints, or 26 half pint jars.
You must use traditional sized Ball, Kerr, Denali or Traditional Mason Jars. Others may not be compatible for this fitting.

What size regulator comes with this, one part says 10 lb another says 15 lb

Most recent models came with a 10 pound regulator, and we are sending out 15 pound regulators to those who request them. Denali is working to update this Amazon product page to notify that we will now (newest models after October) include the 15 pound regulator with separate purchase available for the 10 pound regulator.

Can this be used on an outdoor gas cooker?

Do not use a pressure canner on an outdoor LP [liquid propane] gas burner or gas range over 12,000 BTU's. You just need to make sure the heat source is not overly powerful or it will affect the canner. It is rated for home use primarily, so sometimes outdoor ranges become excessively hot and for safety, you just have to maintain a lower heat on such a burner. Luckily our canner is very safe to use regardless, so as long as you can properly there is a very low chance of a bad incident if you follow the instructions and use an outdoor burner (like propane).
