Well built hitch
Unlike others, the box the hitch came in was relatively unmanaged, and the hitch was in good shape inside. It’s stout, and once attached fits perfectly under the bumper of my 2023 cx5. Install as others have mentioned can be tricky. I watched many videos and read a lot of the reviews here. Here’s my 2 cents on the install: If you have a lift or ramps, it will make your life easier for sure. Others reported doing it without ramps so I installed it from the ground. It’s a lot more awkward trying to angle and lift the hitch into place and under the bumper fascia with the small clearance from the ground with the exhaust lowered. Get a friend to help. While you can get creative and put it on yourself, even with my wife helping, we struggled a bit on the alignment of the hitch and getting the first bolts started with the two of us. Would be a lot harder just myself. I ended up using Jack stands to help support the hitch during this part of the install. Use packing tape for the washers as suggested in the videos. I read in one review where superglue was used and almost went that route. The hole in the washers is smaller than that on the hitch itself, and the tape allows a little bit of flex/movement in the washers to help finagle pulling the bolt through with the fish wire. I think having a truely fixed washer ups the chances of struggling getting both front and rear bolts to line up unless you get lucky on exactly where you glued the washer on. Overall, very doable diy, but there was some frustration and cursing during the install. The hitch is great, used it this weekend for my bike carrier! I plan to go back in a few weeks to make sure the bolts are still properly torqued down.

Perfect Fit and Easy Install
The hitch was installed on my Maxda Cx-5 and it fit perfectly. Hardware included and paper instructions. The installation video was clear and easy to follow, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

Great value
The dealer wanted to charge me over $400 plus labor to install a hitch on my Mazda CX-5. So I just casually looked to see if I could find one cheaper and maybe pay someone else to install it. After reading reviews, I settled on this one. After ordering, I started watching videos and realized I could install it myself. The fish wire included with this made install a breeze! Definitely a hack I'll use in future. My husband and I installed this in roughly 45 minutes. The hardest part of the task was us arguing about how to slide it in to seat it (turns out I was right, he was wrong, so we had to pull it back and reseat it lol). Everyone said it was hard to pull out the exhaust hangars, it wasn't. Pop them out using a screwdriver to pry them with a little effort. He held it in place, I installed and torqued all the hardware. Popped the exhaust back on. It was too easy. The packaging was damaged and torn when it arrived as others have mentioned, but the hitch itself was not damaged. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. I have hauled the bike rack, a store rack that I have, and a small kayak trailer. I couldn't be happier, or prouder of the hundreds of dollars I saved for a great quality and highly rated product.

Second one of these I've installed - works great.
Installed this same brand on a 2016 Mazda CX-5 about five years ago - it worked great for all that time so i decided to look for the same brand again. Then just got this one for a new 2021 Mazda CX-5. Toughest part of the installation is dropping the muffler which requires sliding four rubber hangers off pegs. I learned to use a pry bar and just pry whichever peg on the bumper that provides the best pry angle for that specific hanger. Also use a lubricant to assist. It will take a lot of force but don't let that intimidate you. You'll also want a second person to help hold the hitch in place while you are actually mounting and screwing the first two bolts in place. To avoid jacking up, we have a slight hill on our driveway and I simply positioned the SUV so the back-end was as high as possible so no jacking up required. You'll also want to use a strap to support the muffler assembly once you disconnect it from the four rubber hangers. It took me about two hours all-in to install but I could do it much quicker now that I know the best way to remove the rubber hangers for the muffler - there are some good YouTube videos for that. I would do this again in a minute to avoid paying someone $200 or more to install - not that difficult and a perfect fit...

Good part
All good, it's not difficult to install but you need a little help with someone else. Also as an observation they should put where one can put the connector to put the plug of the trailers

Solid investment
We added this hitch to our 2028 Mazda CX-5 mini SUV and it fit perfectly. Luckily I know someone with a body shop so they put my car on a frame machine like the installation video showed at no additional cost and took about 45 minutes to install. We couldn’t get the washers to fit on the inside of the frame (where it was to be taped) so we put them on the outside when we bolted the screws. Everything was as expected and now my family has a bike hitch that can carry all 4 of our bikes safely and conveniently thanks to this small investment in my car.

Super easy install, hides well
I installed this on a 2018 CX-5. The process was easy. I used two ramps to back the car up on to get space under the rear bumper. I didn't need to go to the top of the ramps to have enough room to work. The instructive were clear although I did watch a number of videos online and found the U-haul video the best. I recommend removing the muffler rubber mounts from the muffler side instead of the car side. Or at least switching it frog the muffler to the car after dropping the muffler. I am only towing a tiny motorcycle trailer currently but shortly will tow an 8 canoe trailer for Scouts which will push the vehicle, not the hitch.

Just installed today. Did 80% myself (probably could have done it all to be honest but father son time is rare these days haha). I did this from the floor of my garage. (Headlamp is your best friend) I also took the 2 extra bolts off to remove the muffler, I highly recommended doing this because there so much more room to work and see. Everything fit perfect and it seems really solid. Happy with my purchase!

Great hitch - relatively easy to install. First find the mounting hole locations on the car frame, remove tape covering them, scrape away any excess spray gunk off the frame and fish the 2 supplied bolts and supports into the frame with the supplied wire. 10 min tops. Then, drop the exhaust (which is WAY easier than it sounds - tie a rope between the rear wheel springs and under the exhaust pipe to support, then spray the the 4 rubber supports with WD-40 and pry off the exhaust - this literally takes 10-15 min. Then you slide the hitch up over the exhaust and behind the bumper. This was (at least for me) a bit tricky to slide in - it is definitely a tight fit and requires some finesse. Once that’s done, there are 4 bolts to put on, which are relatively easy to access with a ratchet. Tip - there is a washer for each bolt that needs to go between the car frame and the hitch. This is hard to do once the hitch is in place (tight work area), so before you start anything, use packaging tape to affix the washers in place to the hitch and poke holes in the tape for the bolts. Makes the job so much easier (I can’t take credit for this). Finally, slip the rubber exhaust mounts back on, remove the rope and you’re done. Less than an hour total if you are even slightly handy.

Easy to install better to watch online videos than use only the instructions. Recommend a second set of hands especially without a hoist. Mazda CX5
