Fill my bucket and dry me off
Update one month later- Efficient! Killiwatt meter is dropping down to $6 a month even after setting lower to 50% humidity. Temperature increase is closer to 3 degrees directly above the unit. It now takes about a week to fill the bucket. Separate hygrometer confirms unit is doing the job well.****I had a hard time pinning down just how efficient this unit is in actual use before purchase, but the price was right and the features are good. Using a kill-o-watt meter, so far I am running minimally at 60% humidity and costing $8 per month. (A full 300 watts non-stop could cost 0.3kwatt x 24hours x $0.13 per kwatt = $1 a day) This fills the bucket every two days. Prior to installing, the interior of the house was peaking at 80% humidity despite running window AC units in dry mode at least an hour a day.I’m running this unit in a multilevel home with a 12 kbtu window ac on each level ($12 each per month) The total 36kbtu cooling is enough for 1600 sq ft, but window units have a tendency to increase humidity as wet hot air clashes with cold air. All three are quiet inverters- two units are Mideas, one unit is a GE that actually retains moisture to slosh against the outside coils… so I felt a special kind of need to get a dehumidifier. It was very easy to set up all the Mideas on wifi on their app. I only needed to find the wifi password once. I do wish the app didn’t have to have the password though, but rather simply needed my permission to access the wifi. It’s a very long password to type in, and I’d like to change it often but with all the devices, I feel like this is a nightmare scenario. Everyone needs to get together to figure out a better security system. The noise is about equal to a mini fridge, but without any start/stop clanging. I am puzzled by the fan speeds… low is more like a medium, and high is high. I had thought that a lower fan speed across a cooling coil would be more effective to condense humidity, but apparently the coils loop to reheat the air on exit out the top for more efficient power. I have it set beneath my heater thermostat and it shows around 6 degrees warmer and 10% less humid in the direct path of outflow. I am using a Govee bluetooth hygrometer around the corner to show a graph of temperature and humidity, which shows me that the dehumidifier is definitely working in cycles as the humidity rises and falls. The noise is much much quieter than our old samsung “portable” ac/dehumidifier. Don’t ever get a portable AC unit, they push your conditioned air right out the window. Horrible concept.Size- it is not as big as a portable AC. It is however about twice as big as I thought it would be based on the pictures. I’d love the literature to use gallons instead of liters. It’s too heavy for my girlfriend to empty. I’ll be connecting drain tubes to the gardening water system soon, just as soon as I can figure out the most effective location to set it. Did you know that humid air is lighter than dry air? So I’m just uncertain if it’s better in the damp basement or upstairs to catch the lighter humidity rising… Is it more efficient in cooler downstairs air or warmer upstairs air? Scientists please elaborate. It does come with wheels but it’s a little too heavy to carry up and down stairs. I am hot and tired.Software has a pretty good scheduling system. I am able to manipulate the device while away from home. I can see inside and outside temperatures at each AC, and humidity on this unit. It’s a little wonky that the menu setup is different for the dehumidifier than the ACs. I wish that scheduling was a little more drag and drop, stretch to fit, rather than dialing numbers. There are other apps to try I think? I am hoping to find one with a cost of use graph, so I don’t have to rely on my Kill-o-watt meter. The app I’m using for the GE AC has a less than ideal daily bar graph of wattage use. Midea please add this! Midea if you are listening, please design your app to show usage costs, just like the kill-o-watt meter, with averages for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly costs. Also look at the GOVEE app - it does a cool thing by graphing temperature and humidity along with an average.Other- I found it interesting that this model did not seem to have any filters. I think the more expensive version may have it.Verdict- Affordable powerful and efficient. Could be smaller? Could use some software infotainment additions? Looks attractive and can tuck away in winter. Would be neat to know where is the best place to use it?

Works As Advertised - Recommend
Update 2, August 19: Dehumidifying still working as it should - yay! - and the pump feature is working as intended also.As others noted and I mentioned previously, the fan runs 24/7 even when the unit reaches the desired humidity level.I set up schedules to turn the unit on/off at set times so it was not running continuously and that worked - briefly.Unfortunately, the scheduling feature stopped working after a few days and because the unit will not stay connected to WiFi I cannot turn it on and off using the app on my phone so I need to go down to the basement - which kind of defeats the purpose of having the pump and the Smart features.I have gone through the reconnect process several times and each time it fails to stay connected. That is an issue because all of the cool features are no longer available and I have to manually turn it on and off to give it a rest because it doesn’t shut off when reaching target humidity.I will call the company and see what they have to say. Little sorry I bought this one.Update 1: I had read in a couple of reviews that the unit does not turn off when it reaches its target humidity level and I have found this to be true. I think the dehumidifying feature shuts off but not the fan which runs continuously. That doesn’t make sense to me but I set up a scheduled “On Time” and scheduled “Off Time” and that has solved the problem. The humidity is under control now so I simply run for a specific number of hours each day to maintain it.Wish the unit would shut off once reaching target but this is a good work-around.Original Post:Well-designed, compact unit that does everything I need.It does generate some heat - as all units do - but I found it to be rather quiet and not at all loud as some reviewers mentioned.I am using it in a small, newer concrete basement (14x40) in a very wet location with a small pond right behind the cabin.I got the one with the pump so I don’t need to empty the bucket and because I am using below grade and the continuous drain mode is not an option. It isn’t complicated to set up but it is a little hard to decipher the instructions needed to do so properly. The manual contains everything needed so read it though carefully before starting to ensure you know where all the components are and you understand the steps. After that it only takes a couple of minutes to complete. The only problem I encountered is that I cannot drain directly outside as I intended because I live in a northern state and the line will freeze causing issues in the winter.I am working on a permanent solution but for now I am pumping into a separate five-gallon bucket so I can use it and test its functionality. As recommended in the manual I ran it on continuous mode, high fan setting for more than 24 hours during which time the humidity dropped from 74% to between 42 and 45%, the cube bucket filed to capacity and then pumped into the secondary bucket I’m using temporarily - so it seems to be working exactly as designed.I have only had it a few days so I know nothing about longevity but I am pleased that it is working as I had hoped and is appropriate for my application.I do recommend it for anyone with a similar need to mine.

Took care of a stuffy basement like magic.
I got this for about 1/2 price when Midea/Amazon was having a sale on the unit. Not sure if it is a good value at full price but I got it for around $100. Pretty heavy and seems well built. Worked very well in a humid, stuffy basement with no ventilation when left on overnight. I attached a hose to drain directly into a floor drain so I didn't need to empty the rather large volume water container. Started to pull moisture from the air in just a few minutes. It is a little loud but if you set it to a humidity level (lots of options) it won't run continuous.
