A Step-By-Step Guide to Learn How to Knit Beautiful Pieces in the Round Can you knit flat? If so, then you can also knit in the round! There is no big mystery to it, and this book will teach you how to do it. Knitting in the round creates a seamless circular fabric and opens up a world of possibilities for crafts such as hats, sweaters, cowls, and socks. Knitting in the round, often known as circular knitting, produces a seamless tube such as in socks, sweaters, and hats. When you work in the round, you'd first cast on a number of stitches, then join the first and last cast-on stitches to continue knitting; the knitting spirally progresses in rounds (like the rows in flat knitting). Circular knitting has numerous benefits. The fabric's weight is uniformly distributed on the needles, reducing stress on the arms and wrists. Purling is not necessary in stockinette stitch, which is frequently seen as one of the huge benefits of circular knitting. The creation of garments like sweaters is also made easier because knitting in the round nearly completely removes the finishing processes of sewing the sweater together. Although double-pointed needles (DPNs) can be used to knit in the round, however, starting with a circular needle is advised because it is easier to use. You will also have to use a bunch of stitches when knitting in the round such that the stitches span the complete circumference of the circular needle. You will rapidly master knitting in the round with a circular needle if you practice consistently with it. There are various techniques, tips, tools, and troubleshooting tricks you must be familiar with, which are vital for your success in circular knitting, and that's what this book aims to help you achieve. Below are snippets of what you will learn; 1. Tools and accessories of circular knitting plus pointers to make the right choice 2. Important knitting terms and abbreviations 3. Circular knitting tips and techniques such as knitting jogless stripes, knitting swatches, casting on in the round, joining stitches in the round, magic loop technique, increasing and decreasing, etc. 4. A great resource!
Previous reviews surprised me because I felt this book was as interesting as a cook book. Like a cookbook, the author explains the techniques and gives advice on the brand of circular needles they have found most helpful. Also, there are some patterns and projects in this book. Not sure how the another reviewer missed them. There is a hat pattern, a cable cowl project. a mug cozy and mittens.I have had previous experience knitting on circular needles but needed more detailed insight and this book has given me the help and confidence I was in search of.

Perfect child gift
Right now I'm kicking myself because I usually only write reviews if I'm unhappy with a product. I have to change that. This large font, large margin, book is wonderful if you know nothing about knitting and you are learning knitting from step one. have vision problems, and like to write a lot in the margins. If you are already familiar with how to do a basic knit stitch, and what to keep in your little tool bag, then the first 97 pages are a waste. 206 pages, minus 97 pages. And the remaining pages are large font and large margin. It's not badly written, actually, and if your six year-old nephew or neice want to learn to knit, this would be the perfect birthday present.

Absolutely horrible
When a book must be purchased, one expects that said book will be readable, particularly when said book is instructional in nature. This book is not even close to being useful, in its current state. The writers command of the English language leaves one wondering whether the writer was ever formally educated. The amount of grammatical errors is astonishing. Amazon should be ashamed that they are charging goid money for this.

Not recommended
Iโve been circular knitting for more than 60 years. I purchased this book in hopes of passing it onto family as a backup. My personal opinion is, donโt waste your money. The terminology is confusing. The pictures are confusing. Anyone wanting to learn how to knit on circular needles will hopefully find another resource. I do not recommend this book.
