Moistenland Soil Moisture Meter, 4-in-1 Soil pH Tester, Battery-Free

I love This little garden tool! I keep composting worms to break down our table scraps and create worm castings for my houseplants and vegetable garden. Worms need a high moisture environment and a relatively neutral pH to thrive and produce a lot of castings so I this meter dozens of times each week. Over the years, I’ve purchased more expensive devices for pH monitoring as well as the cheap moisture meters that are all over Amazon. None of them has worked well. Either they have given bad readings or they're too cumbersome to use easily. When I saw this soil meter, with its unique design, and multi-functionality, I decided to give it a try. i had very low expectations because of my other experiences. I'm so glad I did. this meter is easy to use and highly responsive to different soil conditions. When I move from each worm bin, the moisture readings change, as you would expect. Sometimes a little and sometimes a lot. And I believe the accuracy is good too. Soil that seems dry gives a lower reading than soil that I know is more wet. I don't have as much to say about the pH meter. All my readings are between 6.5 and just over 7, as I would expect. But the readings do change from sample to sample so I'm confident it's working. I don't use the light meter regularly but when I check my houseplants, I get readings that seem about right. Same with the nutrients setting. If I had one critique, I'd say that the scale on the pH meter could be more centered around 7. It ranges from 1 to 8. Any readings below 5 or above 9 aren't too useful for gardening, but easily being able to see if the pH is 6.75 or 7.25 would be. Other than that I'm thrilled with this device, especially for the price. If I broke it tomorrow, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

It is good quality and the moisture measurements are accurate which can help you to keep your plants healthy and thriving. Overall, I think the soil moisture meter is a great tool for any gardener. The soil moisture meter is also affordable and durable making it a great value for the price. All you do is insert the probe into the soil and wait for the reading to appear on the display. The soil moisture meter has four different modes: soil moisture, pH, nutrients and light. The soil moisture meter is made of durable materials and is designed to withstand the elements. I have been using the meter for several months now and it has held up well. This meter is easy to use and highly responsive to different soil conditions. The light meter function works well in the sun. If this company has other products, I would be willing to try those products as well to see how they perform and recommend this product to friends. The Soil Moisture Meter even came with a square of the sandpaper that they recommend for maintaining the probe tip. If you are looking for a simple, affordable, and accurate way to test the soil in your garden, I highly recommend the soil moisture meter. It is very affordable and a great value for all of the features it offers. The only thing that will make it better is the readability. The reader for soil moisture meter is quite small but I am still giving this product 5 stars because everything else is top-rate!

This is NOT a paid or sponsored review (although I wouldn’t mind testing products for honest reviews). I bought this with my own money to try and give my own opinion. I bought this not expecting much, but I figured why not give it a try and see how it performs. Right out of the box it is surprisingly built well enough that I don’t feel like it’s going to break anytime soon although time will tell. It comes in a cheap box from China but it is packaged well to where it will not get banged around in shipping. When I first put this meter to the test I was surprised that the readings are pretty close to what the actual condition of the soil is. The light meter function works well in the sun. I was kind of bummed to see it will not work with my grow lights (it states this in the instructions but I tested anyway). The moisture feature is pretty accurate I first measured bone dry soil and it was accurate so I gradually added water and kept checking and the meter registered exactly what I was seeing. The nutrient function seems to be reading pretty accurate for what I believe to be in the soil but I’m skeptical of this I will have to do further testing on this function and compare with other meters and report back on this one. The PH function works as accurate as the other functions. I started with alkaline soil PH 7 and stuck the probe in and it registered it with no problem. I then started adding PH down (hydroponic ACID) to the water and added it to the soil. The meter registered the PH as acidic PH 3 which is accurate compared to digital PH meter and PH solution. Overall I’m impressed. This is a nice little meter for everyday gardening and to get an idea of how your soil and plants are doing. I wouldn’t use just this meter on prized plants and rely only on this meter but it is definitely worth having on hand. If this company has other products I would be willing to try the other products as well to see how they perform as well as recommend this product to friends.

Zero stars. Does not work. Was showing me my pots were level 6-7 moisture for multiple weeks even though they were bone dry. The light sensor is also worthless. It will show max level if in direct sunlight, but anything else will show the very lowest reading, it does not capture any indirect bright light or anything in between. Didn’t even bother, evaluating the nutrient or pH testing. Don’t waste your time or money on this item. Can’t believe it was so highly recommended.

We like the multiple readings and the long probe. The screen is small, which makes it hard to read, but the tilt head helps with that. On the 3rd use, I stuck it in the yard the full length of the probe. It stuck in the dry clayey soil. When I pulled it out, I ripped the head off the probe. What to do: return for a refund or repair? The probe was stuck into a plastic sleeve, but there was a small hole across the tube. A screw could fit in there! The wires were cleanly broken at the solder point. I can fix that; I have a soldering iron! It was an amazingly simple repair for me to resolder the wires, drill a small hole in the plastic sleeve and put a small screw in the hole. BUT, not everyone has the tools, skill or desire to do that. That is why I gave this 3 stars not 4 or 5 stars. Durability is questionable.

I am so excited about this moisture meter! It seems to be a fantastic value, as it measures four different soil conditions. It even came with a square of the sandpaper that they recommend for maintaining the probe tip. This helps me identify the appropriate sandpaper whenever this bit wears out. I was gifted an amaryllis for Christmas. I have never had success with indoor plants, as their care is not in my wheelhouse. However, I really don't want this gift to die. I read that overwatering an amaryllis will make it rot and die. I don't trust my fingers to know when soil is dry enough to receive some water, and I don't trust myself to give it sufficient water without overwatering. To that end, I purchased this meter to track the various conditions my plant needs. It really is just a click of the switch to adjust to measuring a different soil condition (moisture/humidity of the soil, light brightness, nutrient level, acidity/alkalinity level). As I was getting ready to take a picture tonight, I noticed that the meter reading area is on a swivel with the rest of the meter! What a happy surprise! This means that I don't need to kneel on my creaky old knees to check soil conditions. I fully believe that this meter will help me finally keep a plant alive.

The upgraded soil tester is working great on my indoor and outdoor plants. Easy to read and I like being able to adjust the monitor back and forth.

I used this moisture tester in my tomato patch. I had laid down about 3 inches of miscanthus mulch. Instead of having to push away the mulch and then put my finger down to see if the Earth was damp enough. I just used this meter. It seems to be quite precise. I tested it out also on some of my pots in my patio and I believe this tool is precise and helpful.

It’s helpful tool especially for beginner gardeners who need to understand what is required for their plants survive.
