Nearly perfect carry-on backpack for organized, comfortable travel
I’ve used the Osprey Farpoint 40L on a few trips now and it’s one of the most thoughtfully designed travel backpacks I’ve owned. The size is ideal for carry-on travel and fits easily in overhead bins while still holding enough for multi-day trips. The clamshell opening makes packing feel more like a suitcase than a traditional backpack, which keeps everything organized and easy to access without digging around. Comfort is where this bag really stands out. The harness and hip belt distribute weight well, even when the pack is fully loaded, and the back panel ventilation helps on longer walks through airports or cities. The structure of the bag keeps it from sagging or feeling bulky, and the compression straps help tighten everything down so it doesn’t shift while moving. The Muted Space Blue color looks clean and professional without standing out too much, and the materials feel durable enough for frequent travel. Zippers are smooth, stitching is solid, and overall build quality matches what you’d expect from Osprey. If you’re using this as a strict carry-on, packing cubes make a big difference in maximizing space and keeping things organized. Also, slightly underpacking helps the bag slide into tighter overhead compartments more easily on smaller planes. Overall, this is a reliable, comfortable, and well-designed travel backpack that works especially well for one-bag travel or long weekend trips.

OVERFILLED STILL COMFORTABLE
First of all this is pack is designed to get your gear from the airport to your flat and then on the train then to the flat and stay there as it is just a carry around suitcase. Not designed for camping. It doesn't wave the storage space as a wheeled case would have. But-but- it is simply amazing how much you can cram into this pack. Put a pile of clothes in it and cinch down the internal straps. Still too much? Zip closed the cover and then cinch down on the external straps. Spent a month in Italy and took waaay too much. Must have had 45lbs in there. Just about forced the zippers closed. They held up. Thick padding on the handles and also the shoulder straps. They never dug into my shoulders. Then there is the built in hip belt. A marvelous thing. Took all the weight off my back and shoulders and put it on my hips. Was like I was not caring anything on my back. Although I was hunched over from the weight. Was asked nicely in Milan to check my pack. In 15 seconds I had the shoulder straps and hip belt stowed and the cover zipped up. That is the best part of this pack. It classes up with nothing hanging out. No water bottle bags or straps hanging out. Completely smooth for the luggage conveyors. It is the correct size for carry-on for most airlines. Never had a problem with that even though I believe it was over weight! My laptop rode just fine. This 40liter backpack has an aluminum frame spaced out behind your back to let ventilation thru. I never sweated lugging it around. Also with that frame if you pack it with some lumpy or point items they will not be poking you in the back. Because of the frame you loose some packing capacity. It's a trade off. Comfort or quantity. In conclusion. I will continue to travel with this backpack. It lets me have my hands free to fiddle with the phone-(train tickets-directions-translate) and to assist my lovely wife with her needs. She takes a roley case, up and down stairs, across cobblestones, etc. So how impressed am I with this backpack? I am 64yrs slim guy and am planning on going-with my adorable wife-to Scotland this autumn with it. Glad I found this for travel.

Good choice for lightweight travel the can carry a fair amount of luggage
I have traveled with this in the USA as well as overseas and it works great. I can carry about two weeks worth of clothes and having the ability to hide away, the backpack straps is a big plus. It can be used as a backpack or carry with the handle. It would be nice if it had one or two more zipper compartments on the outside but it still works out well. I recommend this if you want to travel light and the ability to carry what you need on your back. The straps are comfortable and don’t dig into your shoulder. This backpack is extremely well constructed and is designed to withstand a lot of abuse. But that’s par for the course when you talk about. Osprey backpacks. Remember that you want to pack as light as possible when you’re traveling and keep the weight down. This is especially true if you were on the move or traversing, lots of steps or bumpy roads. Nobody ever said after a trip “I wish I had carried a lot more luggage and a lot heavier, luggage”

Large capacity travel pack
Just got it and so far it’s great. Material and layout is great as expected from Osprey. Zippers feel smooth and the capacity is excellent. I’m currently packing for a week long trip including a day at the beach and a 4 night cruise. Typically I try to pack more minimalistic but cruises are my exception to that so this thing is currently holding several days worth of clothes with some room to spare. The day pack isn’t very big at 15L but feels almost as big as my 24L Mystery Ranch pack I use as daily work bag. The day pack is tall and narrow but has a dump pouch and internal pouch plus the main compartment. It can hold a pair of shoes or a small packing cube plus a laptop. The 40L version has a bit more organization I think on the main pack along with the water bottle pockets. On this 55L version that’s all on the day pack which caught me off guard but I think it’ll be great for air travel. I can detach the day pack and have my water under the seat. I’ll update if I encounter any issues on my trip but so far this seems like a great value with a large versatile compartment!

Six Flights And It's Doing Great
Got this for a trip to Greece and Italy. Easy to pack and with 2 weeks worth of clothes plus a lightweight wool jacket and a pair of shoes and second smaller backpack crammed inside, only weighed 16KG - plenty of extra weight available for souvenirs on the trip back. The backpack straps are comfortable and easy to adjust. Pack is very well balanced when on the back. Straps stow away easily. Materials seem durable and I haven't noticed any fraying or seams coming apart - construction quality is good. In contrast, the inexpensive Chinese army backpack I had flown with previously started looking tatty after only a couple flights, which is what prompted me to pick up this Osprey as an upgrade. The 80L size is good; as stated above, I could fit 2 weeks worth of clothes no problem. Main compartment is easily secured with a TSA-approved lock. Easily fit my shampoo and other such wet things in the upper outside compartment to keep it contained in case of a spill. Shoe compartment is also outside the main, so your clothes won't get dirty. Only complaint is that I wish there were a better system for securing the loose ends of the cinch straps, especially if the pack is full and the loose ends are short, but still able to get snagged potentially - it's a small complaint - when the loose ends are longer, it is easier to tuck them away. One problem I ran into was at Rome Fiumincino airport when the guy at check-in for ITA Airways tried to insist it was Oversized luggage because it had some trouble going through their (smaller than everyone else's) baggage conveyer. Eventually, I got him to relent and he let it get checked in the regular baggage and there was zero problems with it being handled after that. It has smaller dimensions than any typical large suitcase, so his insistence that it was oversized was BS, but the issue with the conveyer may have been because the pack was stuffed pretty full in a way that made it kind of awkwardly lumpy and odd shaped. I would say it is best to take care of when packing it that it doesn't get overstuffed into an odd shape (especially if flying with ITA! Turkish Airlines gave me zero trouble). The straps can be a little difficult to get into when it is fully laden, but once you're in, you're in and it is very comfortable. The side handle for carrying it like a duffle is a little bit off-balance, but it is still more comfortable than the handles on most duffles I've encountered. The top handle is very helpful for when yanking it off the baggage conveyer or out of a trunk. The internal frame is wonderful. Overall, I will say a solid 4.5 stars, because it's not totally perfect enough for 5, but it's still great. Flight-ready backpacks such as this are the way to go and I will never go back to using a suitcase for international travel.

comfortable even after miles of walking every day
If you’re planning a trip or a long hiking adventure, I highly recommend the Osprey Farpoint 40L Travel Backpack. My son used this exact backpack while walking the Camino de Santiago, and it performed amazingly. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and the 40L size fits most carry-on requirements, so there’s no need to check a bag. It has great organization, a padded laptop compartment, and stayed comfortable even after miles of walking every day. If you’re looking for one backpack that does it all, this is a fantastic choice!

Best travel bag I've had
I have had a number of backpacks and suitcases over the years. This is by far the best. Why? 1. Easy to carry. The shoulder straps are adjustable, and the hip straps are effective. The back support is also quite good. It also has good "handles" on the top and side of the bag. The shoulder straps are sufficiently padded as well. 2. Covering up the back straps is super easy. Just unravel the cover, and zip it up. Takes less than a minute to do. 3. Easy to pack and access your stuff. The clam shell makes it easy to put stuff in and take it out. The shape also makes it easy to maximize space. The back space for a laptop or tablet is useful, as is the small pocket at the top of the bag; the latter is perfect for your passport and sunglasses (or other small items). 4. It is just the right size. I can pack about 10 days worth of stuff in the bag. My only regret is not buying this bag sooner. It is ideal for traveling, especially if you're getting by on foot and public transit (or other means other your own vehicle). Definitely prefer it over a roller bag.

Promosso a pieni voti.
