Nice primer. Dirk Nichols' book provided a good single source for understanding everything that needs to be considered when putting together a Mobile strategy. When you are writing, make it short and sweet. This book is neither short nor sweet.

This book gives you a great practical framework to develop and execute a concrete mobile strategy. A little confusing in the beginning, it appears as well thought and structured after reading it completely. Excellent examples from real businesses.

If you are a seller for mobile devices, and want to overwhelm someone with a torrent of marketing techno-babble, then this book is for you. However, if you are interested in supporting mobile devices (as I am) just skip this book. As an IT support person, I wanted to get some pointers on how to help users who have problems with these devices. There are one or two chapters about password security, applying security updates, and anti-virus anti-malware. Just the typical security stuff you apply to any PC. But mostly, you get a bunch of turgid phrases like "Mobile Business Transformation Imperatives", "delivering mobile intelligence", "meeting accelerated time-to-market imperatives". The author admits that such concepts can be "challenging" (a word that appears almost once in each paragraph in the book). However we are assured that "contextual intelligence" will eventually lead to the Nirvana of "building and connecting imperatives".
