Works great for no-see-ums and gnats…
I bought the four ball yellow kit specifically because the description said that it controlled no see ums (biting midges) and gnats. An hour after I hung the balls it had captured hundred of midges. They have been up for over a week now and they are covered with gnats and midges. It stormed one night but that didn’t effect them at all. Thanks to this product I have regained the use of my yard. The spray was easy to apply.

Did not work for us!
We had such high Hope's for these balls! No such luck! Have had them up for just over a week, We put all three up in the yard, one up front and two out back. Cant sit on the porch because the horse flies just swarm and bounce off the house, totally ignoring the ball that is in full sun as suggested. Two out back in full sun because we cant use the pool without getting dive bombed! We caught one on one ball out back! We have to kill them with a fly swatter! So disapointed! Was so hoping this would help us out at least a little. We dont have horses, or long grass, or weeds, just tons of horse flies! We even threw some dead ones we swatted on to one of the balls to see if it would attract others, they fly right by them and land on everything but the ball!

Great for flies & mosquitoes
These works very well...but work best if put up at start of the insect hatching cycle. We waited to get these until later in the season after trying other solutions. Best to start early with these and keep them coated with the sticky goo. Spray goo is easier to apply, but the brush on goo usually leaves a thicker coating. We washed up with dish soap at the end of the season so we could store the bugballs "cleanly" and be ready for the next season.

Good idea, but hasn’t caught a horsefly yet.
Great idea, but it hasn’t caught a single horsefly in my barn area. My poor 33 year old horse would be covered in sores from nasty horsefly bites, and I have wracked my brain trying to find a trap or other way to exterminate these nasty buggers without having to constantly douse my horse in chemicals. I generously sprayed the ball and hung it in an area with no shade near where my horse gets attacked the worst. I live in north Texas and the horse flies are the worst in June. I got this in early July, so maybe that’s why it hasn’t caught one, although my horse still has multiple bites per day. I also reapplied the sticky spray to give it a good covering. The horse flies we have out here are huge, about the diameter of a quarter, so they may be too big to get stuck on it too. Overall I like the idea of it, and hope I have better luck next season.

Do not put in direct sunlight
It does its job. But if you have it in direct sunlight the coating from the spray can will melt off. The spray can also leaks all over your hand when you’re spraying. Wear some gloves because this stuff does not come off at temperatures that human skin can handle. The ball recently deflated because it’s in direct sunlight

that rare item that lives up to its purpose
caught so many deer flies that a black bear attacked the ball to lick them off.

Not Sticky Enough
The coating is not sticky enough. I coated the balls liberally with the coating, then watched a deer fly land and somewhat get stuck. A few moments later, it flew away. After reading some reviews, I sprayed even more on the balls and used up the entire can yesterday. When I came home this evening, the flies were swarming the balls, but not one fly was stuck. I watched several land and fly off. The balls on the other hand seem to attract the Flys. Definitely not worth the money for these blue balls without a sticky substance on them. The spray needs work.

Spray is useless
The spray is useless. The inflatable balls are perfect, but get the system that comes with the can of brush on material. I have both in the same area. The brush on, thicker substance works grate and caught hundreds of flies. The spray on balls caught zero! Don't buy this.
