Apple iPhone 14 Leather Case with MagSafe - Umber

The iPhone 14 is a really pretty phone and it's a pity to cover it up with a case that hides it beauty. But I find that the bare phone, while great to look at, isn't ideal to hold because the metal and glass is hard and not particularly grippy, which means holding it for long periods isn't particularly comfortable and requires a tighter grip than I'd prefer. And the great-looking phone no longer looks quite as great after you drop it and it has dents in it. So, at least for me, a case (and screen protector and lens protector) are a necessity. As you'd expect, since it's made by Apple, this case fits well on an iPhone 14 Plus, with the cut-outs perfectly centered and the button covers also precisely aligned with the buttons. Pushing the buttons through the case is almost as easy as pushing them without a case. I think the case offers good protection to the back and sides of the phone because silicone material that it's made from is somewhat soft and can absorb the shock from a fall or other impact. It also gives a nice "grippy" feel that makes it easier to hold the phone securely and with less effort. Particularly important to me, the case doesn't add much bulk to the phone or make it harder to hold. The iPhone 14 Plus is close to the maximum size I'm comfortable holding for long periods and I find that a thicker case makes the phone slightly uncomfortable to hold. The case fits securely and shouldn't fall off. But it also isn't so tight that it's an ordeal to put it on and remove it. So, if for some reason you need to remove the case regularly, that shouldn't be a problem. You'd expect most of these things from Apple. You'd also expect a fairly high price. I got this on sale for 25% off, maybe because it's midway through the iPhone 14 lifecycle when I bought it, so I'm comfortable with the price, particularly when I consider that it's a small percentage of the price of the phone itself. I would be less keen at full price. My wife used a no-name case and was completely happy with it. But I tried her case and found it a bit to bulky. She replaced her no-name case with an Otterbox case, which is even bulkier and heavier and loves it because of the protection it provides. But I find the Otterbox too bulky and too heavy. I'd recommend also buying a good-quality screen protector that has an overlay that makes it easy to install. Protecting the back and side of the phone but not the crucial screen doesn't seem like a great idea. I'd also consider a lens protector, particularly if you take lots of pictures, since a single scratch on one of the lenses could degrade the quality of every photo you take using the lens. Some screen protectors come in a set with a lens protector, which is probably the cheapest way to get both. Update: One day I noticed a small piece of dark rubber-like material on the bed and saw that it was from the phone. A week or two before that, I had dropped the case onto a tile floor from a height of around three feet and figured that was the cause. The iPhone had landed on its front and I noticed a very small dent on the front of the iPhone. Apparently the impact had pushed the case backward and it didn't fully protect the phone from impact. I replaced the case with a new one (on sale). I can't really blame the case for this, but it does highlight the fact that thin cases like this afford limited protection against drops on hard surfaces. My wife uses a bulkier but sturdier case since she's usually less careful with her phone.

This case feels so nice in my hand, it feels premium and is so soft and comfortable to hold. It is prone to getting nicks and scratches because the leather is soft, so be careful about that, but I really love this case. If you are worried about color fading I might go with a different one, the green color I have is beginning to fade on the corners and edges where there is a lot of wear. I don’t mind, I think it adds to the character of the case, but if that bothers you I’d look elsewhere because it’s so expensive.

This case is everything I hoped for and more. The quality is top-notch, as always with Apple’s leather cases. I’ve used their leather cases in the past, and they’re the longest-lasting ones I’ve ever owned—they truly hold up for years without losing their fit or finish. The Forest Green color is rich and classy, giving my phone a polished, professional look. The MagSafe compatibility works perfectly. I can use third-party MagSafe wallets with no issues—they attach securely and stay put. On top of that, the case offers excellent protection without adding bulk, keeping my phone safe from drops and scratches. If you’re debating between this and other leather cases, go with this one—it’s an investment that pays off in durability, functionality, and style.

Bought 2-2023 Yep 1.5 years after purchase, it’s going in the trash bin. Case is cracked and silicone cover peeling off. Kinda expensive for that to happen, just bought one for $10.50. If it takes a dump in 1 year, who cares at $11. $45 plus dollars for 1.5 years of use, not so happy. Conversely, if I drop the phone and the new $11 case doesn’t protect it, I would have once again gotten sucked in to the Amazon 3rd party dubious and cheaply sourced junk.

This case has saved my phone multiple times from getting damaged. Unfortunately, the silicone started peeling after 2 years of use, a problem that my friend also experienced. Case had a great feel and was useful which is expected for the high price but I expected it to last longer than 2 years.

It’s leather so it will last a longer time compared to the silicone version. It’s looks great, fits the phone nice and snug, feels like leather, it has metal buttons, I can feel it will protect the phone well, and it’s a little slippery at first, but after the leather absorbs your hand oils and things, it feels very grippy and secure.

Great case! The quality is better that the OEM Apple silicone case.

Offered just color and a little grip, worthless for protection.. I had it 6 month used primarily on a desk stand. Many chipped corners and screen protectors cracked 3 times and it is not a snug fit either.

It looks nice, fits perfectly and feels like quality. Time will tell though.

Perfect fit, nice looking case that’s well made and strong, but does chip a little when you drop it. I do think it’s overpriced thought.
