They don’t do anything, it’s just a soft/plastic wedge . **Q: Do they sit in shoe without any movement/sliding under foot?** A: Yes. Clean the shoe surface with alcohol if you can. Get your placement just right. Peel the plastic away from the adhesive, and stick it to the shoe. Now stand on the center for 30 seconds to bond the glue. Then stand on each of the 4 edges for 30 seconds, making sure you're pressing the corners.... I would do this the day before you wear them and let the glue cure for 12-24 hours, if your insole is cloth or plastic, just for extra insurance against sweat. This is what I did today on my leather insoles. If I get movement I will use Shoe Goo:B002L9AL84 to glue them in, and also to glue the layers together. Last resort, I will use silicone glue since it's designed for silicone. I might even soak it in acetone for a few minutes to create microscopic "roughness" on the silicone surface, which improves the glue's bond. Depending on the shoes or boots I wear depends how I wear these. They work perfectly fine the regular way as well as reversed. **Q: Can i use this for kids age 8 years old?** A: You could, but don’t use them. They don’t work. Check with your doctor to see what the recommend, but don’t use this, it’s just a soft rubber wedge.
