Fantastic
Perhaps the best book for an introductory course in Solid State Physics overall, students in both undergraduate as well as graduate courses will benefit from it. The derivations are very clearly laid out and a variety of topics have been covered. It is a great book to have in your library although it does not cover topics like lattice dynamics of crystals or plasmons, polaritons, phonon scattering etc. You will need another book for that but this is still a book you should absorb if possible.

Book review.
I bought this book off-lime.While reading the book I found that the book is written in an ugly fashion.Chapterrization is extremely poor.Three is not a single problem solved in the book which I believe every book do.There book contains several chapters which have been unnecessary put there to increase the fatness of the book such as wavenature of matter, introduction to quantum mechanics etc. Moreover, I realised that concepts are only dealt superficially. The thing is that because of the color pages, it may seem attractive but due to poor chapterrization one loses the taste of reading.
