Looks slick, feels slicker
There aren't many Pixel 2 XL cases available on Amazon, and this was one of the few I thought would provide decent protection with minimal bulk. The last phone case I bought by Caseology was the Google Pixel XL Case, Caseology [Parallax Series] Slim Dual Layer Protective Textured Geometric Cover Corner Cushion Design for Google Pixel XL (2016) - Black . It was good until the polycarbonate that protected the phone cracked after one drop and the phone no longer stayed inside the case. This time around I avoided the Parallax case and went with the Vault case. It's all TPU so no polycarbonate cracking to worry about.Initial impression, the matte exterior finish looks really nice. The glossy finish to the etched parts of the case adds a nice touch. About 3/4 of the upper portion of the case interior is glossy with an interesting 6-directional pattern that meet at a 3 point star at the middle. There's branding on the lower left of the interior face, lower left exterior edge, and lower exterior face. They are all relatively minimal and subtle. The case has a snug fit. The inner edge around the screen is raised ~3mm and covers less of the screen than one of my other cases. With less of the phone to "hold onto," I expected the fit to be affected but it seems to fit just as tightly as the other case. The cutouts for the camera, mic, fingerprint sensor, and USB port are properly aligned. The cutout around the fingerprint sensor is a good guide so you know exactly where to place your finger. The thickness of the case is ~2mm and the recessed opening for the camera provides a clearance of ~1mm so you can lay the phone on its back without any worry that the lens will get scratched. The USB port opening is big enough for the factory provided USB cable to plug right in without any problems. I've tried plugging in a third-party USB cable with no issues. The power and volume buttons are protected by the case with minimal effect on button responsiveness.Like my review title says, the case looks slick. It's stylish unlike some of the bulkier cases that might provide better protection, but it also feels slick. The case did not feel "grippy" like I expected from matte finish look. I've dropped the phone several times while using it one-handed, and the case definitely prevented dents and scratches, but I would be hesitant to hold the phone while holding the phone with one hand. I'd be afraid of the phone slipping out of my hand. The case makes it feel like I'm holding the phone with a dusty hand. The case looks nice and protects the phone from drops just fine. The button responsiveness is acceptable. However, the case is too slick and makes me nervous to use it holding it in one hand.

Excellent case, with a few coarse edges.
For a simple lightweight tpu case, it is quite attractive. It fits very well and offers ample protection. The buttons function as they should, the squeeze function works, and the fingerprint sensor opening in the back is very easy to find. It would feel comfortable if it didn't have such sharp molding line ridges on every edge. So much so that I've had to take a file to them (which worked, and with no visual impact). This is the first of three Caseology cases I've purchased for this phone, the other two are the Legion series and the Parallax series. The Legion has worse ridges and is a little thicker, heavier 2 piece case, but which should offer the best protection. As it is two tone, filing the ridges on the silver back probably isn't advisable. The Parallax is my favorite. It's the thinnest, with the best, smoothest feel in hand. I really like the scalloped 3d feel of the back. All three fit about perfectly and are quite good cases for the money. My first case for this phone was the Google fabric case, which IMO looks and feels fantastic, but it's a nightmare with dirty or greasy hands and offers poor protection at the bottom edge of the glass (which I learned the hard way). My second case was a Spigen two piece with a kick stand. It was super uncomfortable, bulky and the kickstand was useless.

A "medium-duty" , stylish case that fits the Pixel 2XL phone perfectly
This case fits my brand new Google Pixel 2 XL phone perfectly. It is not as "grippy" as I would like, but I am used to the Otter Box Defender, which is a beast of a case. The surface of the case is a little more slippery-feeling than I would prefer. It is sleak enough to not add much bulk or weight to an already-large phone. The openings on the back for the camera and fingerprint sensor are perfectly aligned to the phone, as are all the buttons on the side and cut-outs for charger.I purchased several screen protectors to try, and I forget which one is on the phone, but the case does NOT meet up with the edge of the screen protector, but so far that has not been a problem. It looks good, feels solid, is well-constructed without blemishes, and is stylish. I have not dropped my phone and hopefully won't have to test out this case's ability to prevent breakage. I dropped my last phone down a full flight of wooden steps, and with the OtterBox case it was totally undamaged. I wouldn't want this case to have to withstand that kind of a fall - I consider it to be of medium-duty in the durability category; definitely not just a cosmetic case, but not as tough as say an OtterBox.I am happy with the case so far, and definitely would recommend.

Essentially as expected - Caseology Pixel2XL Vault Case
Google Pixel 2 XL Case, Caseology [Vault Series] Slim Protective Shock Absorbing TPU Rugged Protection Textured Grip for Google Pixel 2 XL (2017) - Black Item: Caseology Google Pixel 2 XL Vault Series Case (Black). The case is essentially as expected based on the Amazon description. All black with smooth glossy accents. Finish has a nice look and feel to it, no overt imperfections, nicks, or tags. Appropriate openings for USB and top microphone. The power and volume buttons of this case have perforations on one side. I cannot yet speak to "fit" because my phone does not arrive until tomorrow.I agree with an earlier reviewer that noted the case is somewhat thin, particularly the back. Since the phone has a partial glass back, I may end up getting a different case that has more protection in the back. I do not see any actual "carbon fiber" accents, just some grooves cut near the camera cutout. Not claimed in the online description but printed on the generic part of the box, is mention of PC and TPU material; it's TPU only and has no PC. Giving 4 stars since it is very close to the online description, appears well manufactured, and arrived on time. Undecided if I will keep due to concern about how little protection it provides the back of the phone.

Perfect fit, great protection, good look and grip!
Perfect as all cases by Caseology! It fits perfectly!Compared to other Caseology I had, this looks a bit less protective against drops, but I can understand why: the new Pixels have the squeezing feature so the case has to be flexible to a certain level and 'tight' to the device in order to allow the squeezing with the case. Anyway still strong case, well built, buttons fit perfect, as well as the cuts for USB, camera and fingerprint reader. In case you look for a screen protector as well, check this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076SM1JLP/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0It also fits perfectly to the device with the case - you may find my review of the screen protector as well.Is the Google case better? Functionally speaking, no! I like the touch of the Google case, really nice texture and good look, but this case might protect the device as good or even better. Back to texture and touch of the case, this one offers a good grip and nice touch as well, doesn't feel like rubber/TPU cases. The imitation of polished metal on the back is better than it looks on the picture. The case obviously add some fat to the device but does not damage the front outlook, it is very slim-look for such a good layer of protection; it does change considerably the overall thickness though: I mean it is the same slim cover but it ends by looking considerably thicker than the device actually is, but you may consider that it was made to protect the screen as well so it is a fraction of millimeter above the screen. There are cases slimmer than this one, but I don't think they protect as good; many fail the proper attention on the corners, a very vulnerable part of the devices, but not here: this is solid all around. It is clearly focused on the protection of the device while keeping the squeeze feature alive.UPDATE: I just had a cinematographic fall on black ice, right after a call, still holding the phone in hands, the phone took off from my hands, we had a short fly till landing on asphalt in different spots - we both (Pixel and myself) are alive and well but what matters to you is the case: the device looks perfect and the case has a tiny but noticeable somehow-deep scratch. The case had its first mission accomplished just weeks after getting my new device, and protected well against the asphalt, thanks to the case - I am obviously glad to have it!

In conclusione, promossa a pieni voti!

Exactly what I wanted
Wanted to get the verus High Pro Shield (had it for my Nexus 6P and loved it) but the reviews for the Pixel 2XL version were horrible. Took a chance on this one and I'm glad I did.*Excellent fit*Exact cut-outs for cable, sensor, and camera*The buttons work perfectly*The case is not slippery at allGreat replacement for the verus I had wanted, and at a fraction of the price. I would highly recommend this case.Note: as of writing this review I have not yet dropped the phone/case so cannot make a fair comment on the protection level, but inside it looks very similar to the verus, and I never had issues with damage from dropping that phone/case.

Good design but slippery and a bit flimsy
Good looking case, I prefer this one to the parallax case as it's cheaper while offering the same protection and better design. The back is slippery though and the case is a bit too soft - would've preferred a stiffer material for a stronger feel. Also, it's a bit bulky/wide for the amount of protection it offers. The cutout on the bottom is a bit sharp so one handed use (with pinky finger holding the phone there) is a bit uncomfortable. Still recommended if you like the design and it's not too expensive.

Good protection... Bit too chunky
From a safety point of view this is a good case. It's thick and looks and feels solid. The edges particularly look as though they'd keep the phone safe from falls and drops. For me though, this case is on the chunky side. I love the size and thinness of the phone, but it's practically all lost when using this case. Buttons on the side can be pressed easily.I'm gonna probably search for a nicer looking case, which may offer less protection, but I live life on the edge...!
