Recommend for framing.
For what it is, it's made great and works. I still need more practice at it, but can't take off stars for that. I'd recommend for anyone doing any kind of framing. I only wish I could get them to go just a tad further into the wood. The black points are supposed to be for soft wood and silver ones for hard, but I couldn't even get the silver ones to go far enough in with the adjustment all the way out. When adjusting, it never made any difference at all, so I may have to call the company and get some advice on that cause I am a novice with this. I'd still recommend.

A quality tool that's easy to use with very little strength required.
I've been making wooden frames for awhile now and finally decided I needed one of these if only to make the finished product look nicer. It's solidly made and the effort needed to operate it is minimal as attested by my 88 year old mother being able to make it function. It drives both flexible and rigid points in both soft and hard woods with just a turn of the adjustment dial. A word about it's ability to drive points into hardwood, I've used it on walnut, cherry, oak and hard maple...it may not drive quite as deep on the harder woods but it's still a good solid set. Alignment is easy and as long as you do your part it works perfectly every time. Highly recommend.

Another great Logan tool - make sure to buy more points though!
Easy enough to use, and works great after a little adjustment. I wish tensioning was a little easier to quantify for repeatability but other than that it was pretty much ready to go out of the box! Dont forget to order points with this. Only about 20 come in the box and you can only use their brand with this driver so stock up!

A must for picture frame setting
Pricey but if you are making at least a dozen frames now and may make others in the future suck it up and spend the cash. It’s as easy to use as a stapler. May be even easier. I still don’t fully comprehend exactly how it creates the force to drive every single pin so effortlessly. Once you use it you’ll feel like an idiot for even at first thinking you could drill some tiny holes and stick some tiny nails along the sides of the frame to secure your pictures. I knocked out 14 frames in no time. It’s important to noted that it comes with 100 pins. 50 silver stiff. I used these at the bottom of the frame and 50 flexible black pins that I used on the top and sides of the frames. If you are considering ordering more pins I would recommend the 600 pack of flex pins. I just used the silver ones to use them up and because they were free. This tool is worth the price if you are making more than just one frame. I GUARANTEE YOU WILL COME BACK AND HIT YES. “ THIS REVIEW WAS USEFUL” AFTER USING IT.

Works great, until it misfires.
We made 18 flag boxes to hold flags from the funerals of veterans. We used this tool to put the back on each box. It worked 90% of the time, and it sunk the flexible points into Cherry, Oak, and Walnut with ease. The other 10% of the time it would misfire and we would have to unload, reload and try again. Overall I'd buy it again, just know it may take some "adjusting" of the points if it doesn't fire them.

Perfect item when putting mats and photos in wooden picture frames
I purchased a number of picture frames locally. I removed the backing and clips from the frames because I was putting in my own matting. I had to remove the clips because my matting was thicker. I purchased this pinning gun to replace the clips I removed. It worked perfectly. I was able to put together my new mats and frames in just minutes. I do recommend backing off on the "Depth" setting at first. You will waste a few clips, but you can adjust the depth setting and get a perfect clip depth this way. Also, either put the wood frame side against a solid area (wall) or hold it very tight, because the clip being inserted pushes on the wood frame. I only wasted 3 clips before I had a perfect setting. If you remat or change out photos in a frame that uses these style of clips, I would highly recommend getting one of these guns. I would also recommend not bending the clips, but just remove the old ones and shoot in new ones. You can purchase 600 clips for under $10. Great product and I would recommend it highly. Also Adorama Camera is a great place to purchase items. I have been using them since the 80s and I have had not problems in the over 50 purchases from them.

Very good tool for this hobbyist user.
Great item for the price. Sturdily built with steel frame. Works very well with both rigid and flexible points. The key to success is to hold the Driver flat against/parallel to the backing of the photo or item to be framed, while holding the front of the Driver firmly against the inside of the frame and pull the trigger. It is important to adjust the tension knob properly for the type of wood you are driving into. Hard woods like oak and walnut will require extra force for the points to enter sufficiently deep, while softer woods such as pine, basswood, and fiberboard require less force. I have had only one jam occur, due to incorrect tension on my part, but it was very easy to clear. If you've not used this type of device before, expect to make a mistake or two in the beginning as you get accustomed to it. but after that you will see how easily and effectively this tool performs.

Makes DIY Framing Easy!
Finally I am able to take full advantage of the open back frames at my local craft store for my standard sized projects! They look just as good as custom frames and cost a lot less. I could never figure out how to secure the backing to the open frames, until the internet came to the rescue and recommended this product. I've used it on several pieces of art around my house, including several art prints, a diploma, and an original painting that had come loose from its frame. It's very versatile and a must have for DIY framing. If you've used a staple gun before, you should have no problems operating this tool. It's pretty straight forward and I haven't had any issues with the points jamming. I'm so glad I bought this and only wish I'd done it sooner.
