A huge step up in performance.
Got this as part of a new Gaming PC build, and having done a lot of research, i determined it was the best value for the performance I needed now, and in the future. The results are like night and day from my previous I5 6600K. It functions like a dream. Was easy to install, very efficient, and and simply the perfect for for my PC.

Good CPU!
The AMD Ryzen 7 7700x is a brilliant CPU and has a beastly 5.4 GHz max boost. I use it for gaming and so far it has crushed any game I’ve thrown at it (for context I run a 100Hz 1080p monitor). In it’s price range there aren’t many CPUs that compete with it. Good CPU and I haven’t had any trouble with temperature (I use a NZXT Kraken 360 RGB AIO). Good CPU and worth the price in my books.

Very Fast, Very Hot
What is "easy to lock " supposed to mean in the review features? Anyhoo, this CPU has insane, amazing performance as long as you cool it well. Having 8 cores/16 threads capable of boosting to 5500MHz makes such a difference to smooth gaming, but stress it and each core will try to go as fast as it can until it thermally throttles at 95 deg C. Consequently a single tower air cooler will struggle. I was planning to buy the 7700 but the 7700X (very slightly faster but hotter) was £20 cheaper at the time of purchase. I will be undervolting it as I simply dont need that little bit of additional performance at the expense of a lot more heat, but its nice to have it in reserve for the future. There are faster chips on the market for gaming and multitasking - the 7800X3D or the I7-13700K, but honestly I don't render animations or compile code or stream games all day long for a living, and I cannot afford an RTX4090 so getting the very fastest CPU possible is moot. Also, I wanted a clear upgrade path, and buying Intel usually means a new motherboard with each new CPU generation, so I nailed my colours to the AM5 mast this time around. One last tip - when applying your cooling solution, I advise carefully spreading your thermal paste before you place the cold plate or air cooler into position. The AM5 IHS has "legs", and if you make sure your cooler has good thermal contact with the tops of the legs in addition to the centre of the IHS, it can only help keep temps down.

Great price for performance
Very good CPU for money, had this particular one a few years now and it still is able to support the system in running basically anything without much going over 50% load. For a budget gaming setup I would 1000% recommend this cpu.

First time for an AM5 CPU.
This was bought with a new Asus Motherboard as a upgrade for an old AM4 5600x system. from differing reviews maybe not a big upgrade. Immediately installed the latest MB Bios file and let the Asus App rename it, copied to clean USB. plugged USB int new MB and pressed the bios button, some minutes later the tiny bios bios led stopped flashing on the MB indicated update finished. Removed power to the board and installed memory, then very carefully and gently installed the CPU, closed the securing lever which pops off the black plastic socket cover, and that was it CPU installed. Added thermal paste and installed CPU fan. All cabled up and booted on first try. Installed the necessary driver and away it went with Windows 10. Feedback suggests a good upgrade from the earlier combo.

Very good
It works flawlessly with my current gaming pc build I don't think I have had it reach 100% use yet but then again I don't usually have many apps/games open at the same time and only currently have one monitor. It was easy to install into my motherboard. High cost but it seems worth it for me as I have done some 3D modelling but only using Blender as Autodesk is outrageous in price. Works well with most modern games I've played so far. If it makes a noise I wouldn't notice seeing as I have a fan cooling it which is necessary as a heads up because it will oveheat without any cooling.

The 7000 series processors are notorious for running at high temperatures, undoubtedly due to higher power consumption and additionally, this is assissted due to the thick IHS. This processor, the 7700x, is fast (really good for mid range CPUs) and I was able to install it without any hiccups. If you have kept up with the news regarding the AM5 motherboards, some of them (specially ASUS, along with some GIGABYTE boards) were literally frying the CPU along with the socket due to the unreasonably high voltage deliveries to the processor. (Additionally, out of the box, AMD has set these processors to run at 95°C, further adding to the problem and they said 'it is MADE to run at 95 degress by design' - still I am a bit uneasy hearing this.) This was the story of nearly a few months to a year ago. HOWEVER, since then, the constant BIOS updates have really stabilized the boards and I can safely say, AM5 platform has stepped into the mainstream territory. Some tips I would suggest, just for the safety, first of all, these new AM5 boards come with 'BiosFlashback' feature so you could update the BIOS to the lastest version without installing anything else. Watch videos for further details. Secondly, I believe the 95°C 'being normal' is uncomfortable for a lot of people. What I did with my ASUS b650 E-F motherboard is that I tweaked the BIOS a bit and undervolted the CPU to 1.20V from 1.30V. Also did some adjustments with the Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) setting, the Curve optimizer and I set the Thermal throttle limit to 75°C which I feel comfortable with. No doubt, my processor runs at around 95% capacity BUT staying at 75 degrees, I feel much comfortable now. You won't see any noticeable change in performance and your processor stays cool. It's much better to stay safe with these temperatures and expand the lifespan of these processors. Hope this helped :) Edit: It's just over a month since I have been using this processor. Let me mention, the temperature doesn't really go above 60°C and averages around 55 degrees. The only time I hit 75°C was when I stress tested it. My computer is running smooth and I'm really satisfied with the results, the main one being, it is not going supernova. Oh and just to mention, I am using an AIO cooler. Edit 2: Okay, I've to mention something after using the processor for 4 months. In the previous month, I tested it on stock settings. No undervolting nor thermal throttle limit, just some modified PBO settings and I've noticed the temperature doesn't hit 95 degrees at all. It averages around 60. The only time it really heats up is when I focus on some CPU intensive tasks. My new recommendation would be, to use the processor on stock settings. I was handicapping it a bit.

最初、表示では半月以上先の到着との事だったけど、注文後1週間程度で届きました。しかし国際郵便で届き、え!?大丈夫かなぁ?と心配したけどちゃんと7700Xで安心しました。
