For the PROFESSIONAL AVID editor - this backlit keyboard is perfect for dimly lit edit bays - with smooth key action and solid design - this LOGICkeyboard makes long edit days stress free & easy to see!! i have 2 of these already - one for PCs, and one for MACs. its hard to imagine working without it!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!

The fact that this is the 6th time I bought this could go either way.
I've been using various iterations of this keyboard since pre pandemic, back when we still went on site to post houses and you would have to share the macally keyboard with the night AE who was eating peanut butter sandwiches while they were manually grouping footage. I finally started bringing my own keyboard in, and because I like to set the mood in my bay with salt lamps and editing in the dark, the light up keys on this really sets the mood and makes it really useful. Nice action on the keys, with a nice clack to the touch, the keyboard has a premium look and feel that makes you feel like you are editing on an AUDI. Now I say AUDI, because I do have some gripes. After excessive use on some of your favorite keys (in my case, A&S because I assign my zoom in/out there) they start coming loose and become impossible to put back on, or even worse you chip the little nub that latches on to the scissor action underneath resulting in missing keys. Of course if you contact the dudes at logickeyboard, (think they're in netherlands?) they'll send you some spare keys and hardware to replace. But then you have to put it aside until they come and bang out cuts back on the old trusty tanks of yore. The fact that these keys become loose and come off is an inevitability with heavy regular use, but after all these years, I still come back to them or replace them. Sometimes because some post house wanted to use Premiere for their project (ugh) Sometimes because I needed a second one for my second rig, but almost always because the keys will eventually start falling out. And yet here I am yet again with a fresh new keyboard. I want to say this one feels a little sturdier than before. Feels a little heavier. Feels like metal casing, feels like a little more heft. For me, I have 5 spares I can raid for parts now, so missing buttons won't be an issue any more...but then again, I've already memorized my keystrokes at this point, so do I really need something that lights up?

This is a brilliant keyboard!
I don't usually take time to type a lot of reviews, but this keyboard is excellent! I have went through a lot of keyboards in my time, but this is not just a great keyboard for film/Avid editors, but the punch resistance on the keys is incredible. The weight of the keyboard makes it still most of the time which helps me a lot. Also the nice transparent cover that comes with it will make it easy to be replace after a while when it gets stains and the keyboard itself stays clean and the letters doesn't get wiped after the using it a lot.

The worst keyboard I've ever used
I have been using this keyboard for a couple years now, I have not liked it since the day I first started using it. Unless I'm editing in Media Composer I will type without the LogicKeyboard with my Mac Keyboard that I love. Which means I have to change them out - PITA..For me at least I just can't seem to type on the keys consistently, they're slippery. The lights that are under the keys are somewhat muted and looks very dull and dirty. It's' heavy and seems to be built well. Except that it just doesn't work. The keyboard lights blink on and off even at full power, and to type on the keys doesn't work most of the time now. That requires unplugging 2 separate USB plugs for the keyboard that "seems" to reset it for at least a few hours anyway. That's the other dig, it requires 2 separate USB ports in your computer, lame. And WTF, why couldn't they use a discreet Side-port USB for dongles like the old Mac keyboards? - LAME.It was expensive, and if I can offer some advice after my experience I would opt for another option, anything but this Logickeyboard.Seriously unhappy with this purchase. It basically doesn't work any longer - thanks Logickeyboard! You got my money, but never again-

A fantastic keyboard with good chunky keys that have a great feel to the touch. And the backlighting is ideal for a dark edit room. One caveat: I needed to purchase a USB port with a power adaptor to plug it into in order to get my wireless mouse to work properly with an older computer (it's not expensive and can be had here on Amazon.) But, all in all, I can't recommended it highly enough!

Heavy handed typists stay away
While this is a beautiful backlit keyboard with nice key play, the mechanism is too delicate for my typing & more than once a key hing has broken either due to typing or having to clean and removing the key for cleaning without damaging it. They offer replacement keys at $25.00 through their website and while I do understand this is a specialty piece, 25 bucks for a euro sized piece of plastic & less than robust engineering? It seems unfair especially since more than one review mentions this same problem. If you are a ginger typist have it, again, it is beautiful and the adjustable brightness is a thoughtful touch, but if you know you hammer the keys think about a different option. I have been typing for 40+ years and never damaged another keyboard. I have bought two and won't do it again.

Editing at home?
I am an avid editor and have been using it for a couple of years now. I also got a keyboard condom for it when i made the purchase. The keys feel great and i have no problems at all. It is a great keyboard.

Worked well, just not a long time
Bought keyboard in Oct 2020 and now July 2022 the keys are starting to pop off. Mainly just the T, but I use the T key a lot. Other than it not lasting very long it has been a good purchase. I guess just expect to buy one every 1 to 2 years.
