Dead Space was already a great game, and this remake updates it properly without losing what made the original work. The improved visuals, sound and modernised gameplay make exploring the Ishimura even more atmospheric. The freer zero-gravity movement, expanded areas and additional story details are meaningful changes rather than just a new coat of paint. A great survival-horror game and an excellent update of the original. The physical PS5 edition is also worth owning rather than having to depend entirely on digital access.

Great remake of an already awesome game, can't fault this, ea actually did a good job with this remake, love the little gameplay tweets they've added especially the zero gravity sections which were a bit awkward in that original. Faithful remake amazing graphics & a great atmosphere

I played the first incarnation years ago, so was dying to try this one. And it's superb. I have to admit, there are a few glitches here and there, but the game is incredible. It truly is suspenseful and scary the first time you play it, especially when you're low on ammo and all the lights go out, then the noises start in the darkness and you don't know which way to run. So cool! If you love shooters with a horror edge, you'll love this. I'm playing it for the third time now to see the alternate ending.

Really good remake, almost as good as the original but the protagonist talking kills some of the mood. Overall the game is a 4.5star

If you enjoyed the recent Resident Evil games, or just like horror, tension and gore, Dead Space is a MUST have. It’s a remake of an iconic title, built from the ground up with truly stunning yet disturbing visuals. The gameplay blends brutal, heart racing encounters with intelligent, thoughtful puzzles and exploration. The audio submerges you in the claustrophobic, dank, and sometimes tragic innards of the Ishimura, with a hair raising soundtrack and a soundscape unlike any other horror game. It culminates to build an atmosphere where not a moment goes by where you’ll feel safe. It’s worth mentioning that it’s use of limited resources and satisfying upgrades and weapons, mixed with the constant threat of the truly haunting and oppressive necromorphs, makes for one of the most brutal and terrifying games on PS5/XBox Series/PC. You really won’t find many horror games that match Dead Space.

I’ve not played any of the previous games so come to this with no real expectations. Initial update is not excessive. This review is based purely off of the first couple of hours or so of playing. Firstly graphics are outstanding it really does look good on the PS5, the storyline is not OTT and the balance between action, puzzles and exploring is spot on. I’m only 2 weapons in so far but I suspect that there will be novel dismembering bits of kit waiting to be gotten further down the road. Thoroughly enjoying so far, resident evil in space with the blood and gore turned up is probably my best comparison with games I’ve already played. In this respect this is so far better than RE village - in fact I’d go so far as to say that this is the best game I’ve played so far on the PS5. Edit - well I have now finished the game and have gone straight back in for another round to find extra suits, guns and some secret stuff. I haven’t enjoyed a game like this since Resident Evil 2 in 97 - about the highest compliment to a game that I can give.

I can’t honestly rank the game. I’m writing to give a fair warning to those in the US region. I could not install the game. I got hit with error message CE-100005-6 after it would install 75%. I ran through all troubleshooting and did not have success. Luckily Amazon has accepted a return. I’m not sure if it’s because of a regional lock, but after some research, it seems like others in the US have had the same problem. Not sure what the issue is, it may be because of the game version? But I will give 5 stars based on my time playing the follow up, The Callisto Protocol, which was a fantastic game. Good luck!

Love this game. Think it's same as PS3 version but still tons of fun. Totally recommend if ur a fan of past ones. If never played the older ones, it's totally awesome. 👌
