Wolf Tooth Components B-RAD Mounting Base

WARNING: I used this product in a way that it definitely wasn't intended for, but it worked perfect!I'm building an electric assist bicycle (shown) and purchased a "Hailong" style battery that goes in the frame and attaches to the water bottle bosses. My problem was that where the holes are at on the frame, the battery won't fit in the correct orientation.I asked some folks in the electric bicycle community for suggestions on what to do. There are methods of attaching new bosses to the frame with hose clamps, zip ties, and nylon straps, but with the extra weight of this battery compared to a water bottle I was concerned they would slide around. Drilling new holes and using rivnuts to attach the battery bracket was an option, but I'm pretty OCD and was afraid I would drill crooked or incorrectly. One gentleman suggested this product, so I decided to try it.Upon receiving the product it was clear that it is high quality. For the price I paid (Just under $22) for the B-RAD 4 model I expected at least something to be of low quality, but I was wrong. The zip ties included are low profile so the ends won't stick out visually, the foam tape has a high quality stick tape, the screws are low profile with a deep recession for the driver and high quality, and the product itself is high quality as well.I mocked it all up and ended up choosing to use the optional nylon washers with the screws that mount to the original bosses on the frame to act as a sort of lock washer. I attached the foam tape up top and attached it to the bicycle, tightening the bolts and the zip ties up top. After mounting was finished the product was attached very sturdily.When it came to mount the battery bracket, instead of using two holes on the frame to one extreme, I was able to use three holes spaced out apart which provided a much more solid bond. As seen in the second photo, the B-RAD 4 runs almost the whole length of the battery bracket, and provides a flat mounting surface as compared to the raised bosses on the frame. Everything fit together so well it was as if the product was intended to mount a Hailong pack. Going forwards, even with a bicycle that has factory bosses in a good position, I am still going to buy a B-RAD 4 to use because it feels so much sturdier. Bravo for a great product.

It did solved my problem of not having enough space for two big watter bottles.Construction is solid, is easy to install, still thinking price could be lower but is a good value indeed.If need it I would definitely buy it again.

I needed this for my ebike battery to fit my bike! It's a little lose with the weight of the battery, holds great, if it's a water bottle (thats what this product is meant for) it would be exactly perfect! Great product easy to install! Works for what I needed, just need a little more strength to support my battery! Other than that it's a great product, works and fits great! Strongly recommend if you need to hold water bottles. OK for ebike battery's! My bike maybe the problem not this product, battery wiggles a lot, bike feel down and the bracket bent do to battery weight, but don't think it's the product , it holds my battery vary well! Great product!

I'm upgrading my bike to an e-bike with an electric motor. The battery wouldn't fit in the frame because the screw holes for the water bottle holder were too far down. This worked great for shifting the mounting point further up. It's a sturdy bracket that seems stable, even with a heavy battery attached. Does everything I need.Minor nitpicks with it. No instructions, though it's pretty obvious how to install it. The provided screws need a star wrench, instead of the hex wrench screws universally used on bikes. It comes with long and short screws. The long ones are great for attaching the bracket to the frame, but way to long for the battery holder. The short screws were almost too short, just barely fit. Another 1/8'th inch would have been perfect.

Great system. I have a Scott Genius with a single cage on the downtube, and a dropper post that limits the size of a saddle bag (didn't want a saddle bag that was attached to the seat post and could damage it.) Also wanted something that I could use while racing enduros. This is a genius system. Really easy to install. What I found is that on my bike the bottom tube curved up slightly at the bottom, so the base could not sit flat. Solved it by cutting the adhesive cushion in two and putting it under both the top and bottom of the B-RAD mounting base. Becuase of this, the B-RAD sits slightly higher on the tube than is designed, so the screw holes did not line up with the ones in my tube, so I was only able to attach with one screw (instead of the two that it is design to, but with the zip ties, it works fine.For Wolf Tooth, couple of thoughts:1) Include a bit more of the adhesive pad. That can be used to make the fit work better for bikes like mine.2) Would be great if you could design it it could be screwed on via a channel, instead of specific holes3) Instructions were a bit weak. I almost gave up and sent it back (becuase of my down tube that curved slightly) until I figured out my own solution.

Works well. I know it’s far from rocket science but instructions would’ve been a plus.

Does exactly what it is meant to do and more. I repurposed this bracket as a mount for a 48V 20Ah e-bike battery and works perfectly there. Very light, good quality finish.
