Aqua Comb Pool Filter Cartridge Cleaning Tool

**See my video** Over the years I've tried several different methods to clean my pool filter cartridges. After discovering and purchasing the Aqua Comb, I've found it's the most effective and fastest way to clean my filters. I've been able to use just a high velocity garden hose spray nozzle to clean them fairly well, but it took at least twice the time and water compared to the Aqua Comb. So, here's the best way I've found to clean pool filters: 1. Buy a large trash can that will allow covering at least the bottom half of the filters in water. 2. Add at least a pint of Simple Green or another non-toxic cleaner 3. Soak the filters a day or two, flipping them upside down at least once or twice after several hours. 4. Remove and clean them with a good flowing garden hose with the Aqua Comb attached, until the water runs clear of sand. For four filters this may take an hour. 5. Keep two sets of filters so that you'll always have a clean set to keep your pool in service while you're soaking the dirty ones. I store the clean filter set in the trash can (used for soaking) in my attic. The Aqua Comb was a great invention and it's made what used to be a huge ordeal, less time consuming. The angle of the comb is just right for directing the flow downward. The comb teeth are durable enough that I'm not worried about breaking them while cleaning filters. The yellow twist valve allows me to stop the flow after cleaning each filter and saves multiple trips to the faucet valve. This was a great purchase for me and I feel it's sold at a fair price.

I really like this Aqua Comb pool filter cleaning tool. I was having such a hard time getting my filter clean before, but this makes it so much easier. It gets between the pleats and removes all the dirt. Definitely saves time and does a great job.

This cut my filter cleaning time by 75%. Does a pretty good job, at least much better than a regular hose sprayer. Seems kind of cheap but functions pretty well. Made entirely of plastic. Has lasted 4 cleanings so far. Lost a star because the swivel on the end that connects to the hose is also plastic and press fit into the main body, so if you torque it hard, the swivel pops out and sprays everywhere. Easy to re-install but annoying, and it is probably wearing out the joint. I suspect it is good to clean filters 6-8 times, then you would need a new one. Worth the money but design could be improved.

Have had many of these. The fingers really help clean between folds in filter. Very effective but wouldn’t leave in the sun exposed.

This really did an excellent job, and was much quicker than just the hose. It takes a few minutes of practice to see how to use it best, but it really is a great tool for the job. Before and after photos after we had two giant dustorms in three days.

This tool is amazing and does a really great job of getting in between all the filter sleeves to get all the gunk out. This is a game changer for anyone who owns and does their own pool maintenance and even all the pool techs out there. I still spend lots of time cleaning because I try to get it all out and this saves me so much time.

I really wanted to love the Aqua Comb Pool Filter Cartridge Cleaning Tool, and the first time I used it, I was impressed. It makes cleaning pool filters much easier, with its comb design effectively clearing debris from the filter pleats when attached to a garden hose. It saves time and gets the job done well—when it stays connected. Unfortunately, the tool consistently pops off the hose connector at least once every time I use it. This is incredibly frustrating, as I have to stop cleaning, shut off the water, and reattach it before continuing. The constant interruptions make the process less efficient than it should be. If the connection were more secure, this would easily be a five-star product. For now, it’s a decent tool with a great concept, but the connection issue holds it back. I’d recommend it with caution until the design is improved.

I was very skeptical of this product, and even more so after it arrived. Like others I questioned its function and durability. I was also expecting water port openings at the end of the 'fingers'...otherwise they seemed useless. Finally, the price seemed high for a piece of seemingly cheap plastic. I didn't see how it would function any better than the spray head on my hose. Well...surprisingly it worked fantastic. Between the muriatic acid soak and this tool my filters have never been cleaner in over 10+ years. It also accomplished this mundane task in about half to a third of the time, also saving lots of water. It would have been worthwhile even for a single use, but it held up and can be used again.

I was skeptic but it does work! A very handy device to have around for cleaining the hard to reach pleats of a typcial pool filter. The only negative is the fairly high price for the quality, as it is all plastic.

Really cleans the fins out well.The fingers really get out the large grasses and leaf matter and the jets work well.

The product has an American imperial size fitting to connect to the hose. An absolute pain to attach a metric fitting to; fortunately my neighbour had experience with this problem with irrigation fittings and came up with a solution that involved grinding down a plastic metric fitting and securing it with lots of thread tape. It works really very well and no leaks now. Just a fiddle and perhaps Amazon vendor should advise that the fitting is imperial measurement..

I have used this for several cleanings of my large cartridge filters. I clean the filters with this tool to get the large debris out, soak the filters in cleaner, and then use this tool again to rinse the filters out again. Although I would prefer metal handle construction with plastic “fingers”, this plastic one is holding up to the task. Much cheaper than the same tool at the pool store. When using, I recommend pulling it along as opposed to pushing or scrubbing as doing so may puncture the filter cartridge.
