Coils only lasted a few months!
It’s been a few months and I bought coils for my 2012 Jeep Sahara Wrangler Unlimited. I was told to purchase because I was getting a code that there was a misfire in engine. My husband called mechanic and did research. He was told to purchase ignition coils, replace all of them and it should stop misfiring and codes would go away after he installed & codes cleared. This worked for a short time, maybe 2 months. Eventually the check engine light came on again and codes popped back up.Mechanic said to replace coils with better ones. They said not to purchase off market because the ones we did purchase were not good or did not have a long life to them. We have a new engine, so we know it is not that and we had looked at numerous times. The codes don’t lie and keep saying it is misfiring again, Now, the truck does not have a lot of power, but if my husband clears the code the truck has power. Then once it misfires the truck seems sluggish, because coils are damaged. Common- we were told when coils are not working correctly or up to full potential for vehicle. When I purchased coils were capable with vehicle. I assume that they are damaged and should work longer than just a few months. Spending more money on coils is very aggravating and I hope company will replace. This truck is not even driven a lot and always maintained. I strongly believe the mechanic and codes.
