Spear & Jackson 5LPAPS 5 Litre Pump Action Pressure Sprayer

I am very pleased with my Spear and Jackson 5 litre garden spray. It is easy to assemble and has a wide neck which makes it easy to fill. There is a shoulder strap but I found it easier to use the simple handle lock and carry it. The only problem I had was that the instructions on the side tell you to lock the trigger, but they do not tell you that you have to unlock it to make the spray work. I had to watch a YouTube video to find the solution. I'm glad I did because otherwise I might not have noticed the convenient handle slot to store the nozzle when it is not in use. After I found out how to turn the spray on, I was able to use homemade weedkiller to accurately target the weeds in my patio.

I purchased this at the back end of last season and eventually managed to get it to come up to pressure but when I tried it at the start of this season it wouldn't work. I contacted the seller who was extremely helpful, sending a replacement valve which unfortunately didn't help so I was sent a complete new sprayer. I am pleased to say it worked immediately. I bought this so that I wouldn't have to bend down to spray the weeds, if the wand had been 12" longer this would have been absolutely perfect. I use Vinegar(20% from Amazon) with Epsom Salts and dish washing liquid to kill my weeds and any worries that the salt would clog the spray head disappeared after the first use, worked perfectly.

I bought this to spray down my crested gecko enclosures (I have 3), and can definitely say, that I am glad that I did.The sprayer is of good quality and you can adjust the spray output be twisting the nozzle.I am currently using the finer spray which evenly distributes water for quite a long time. The spray pipe is long enough to reach the back of my enclosures which are 45cm deep, without having to put my hand in and it reaches area's that my rechargeable spray bottle can't, it's so much easier.Oh I nearly forgot to mention that this bottle also has pressure release function.The only thing that I am not keen on, is the whistling noise it makes when you pump up the pressure, saying that, I have very sensitive hearing and can learn to live with that 🙂All in all, a good buy in my opinion 👍

ok having seen so many great reviews of this sprayer, I felt it necessary to point out that a) it comes with the spray lance disconnected from the trigger and b) no matter how tightly I connected the lance to the handle it leaked a little whenever I tried to spray with it. I don't want weedkiller leaking onto my hands or gloves. So this seems poorly made at this one connection point. To resolve this I grabbed some gorilla glue and spread a thin film around the top of the tubing before inserting back into the trigger. After a few hours it was good, no more leaking.Otherwise the product seems good and easy to operate. But please note you may need to do some minor work on it to get the spray hose watertight.
