I've owned the SU-9n also which is another great unit but this definitely takes things a bit further comparing the two. The clarity and sound depth on this unit is remarkable nearer high end gear I'd say. I don't know if its because of the 8 channel use of this ESS flagship chip or just a better linear power supply. It's a neat little unit as well rather than the usual shelf fillers. The headphone amp is another great feature and has two different gain settings in the menu to suit your headphones which makes it a great all in one compact unit. The digital filters are fun to play with and sound colours can change the sound subtly which most DACs just don't have. Even the Bluetooth is probably the best I've heard this tech sound with its new LDAC technology, its as good as a cable but wireless.The use as a standalone DAC though is it's standout feature I feel, it's an exceptional sounding DAC! But it's right up to date with specs, a flagship DAC chip, modern design and two older units before it to improve on (which were already good), so you'd expect it to be.I'll add as well this DAC needs a bit of time to settle in. First impressions were not good at all, thin, sibilant sound difficult to listen to but that disappears after quite some extended use, then it's hard to stop listening.

Pros:Sound quality, imaging/soundstage, inputs/output choices. Built like a tank.Cons:Headphone Amplifier is underwhelming. The amplifier IS powerful enough to drive most?? headphones, but you will have to push the volume really high.On my Hifiman Edition XS, I have to use at least 75-80% volume to get to a decent listening level.No Auto-Shut Off: You have to manually turn the unit on and off when you're going to use it.Let me explain: Some products (e.g Topping) detect when there is a "signal" from the source, and automatically turn on and off as necessary. If you use a PC, that means your DAC will turn on and off when your PC does. This product lacks that functionality.If you forget to turn it on when you turn on your PC, your audio settings will be messed up when Windows loads, and you will have to a) set it all up again or b) restart your computer.Inconvenient, to say the least.

Som forte, ótima musicalidade e controle. Primeiro, tive um Topping DX3Pro+, que recomendo totalmente pelo preço. Detalhes e resolução muito altos. Depois, um Cambridge DACMagic200m, que, sem ódio, eu realmente não gostei nada. Talvez fosse o meu setup, mas parecia congestionado, embaralhado com muito baixo "boomy", eletrónico e, pior de tudo, terrível em volumes baixos. O MK500iii é muito bom, um pouco mais de autoridade e potência que o topping, e com os filtros Crystal, consegue-se o mesmo detalhe. Recomendado.

What a blast of a DAC! Only after I started using this one, I understood that my audio interface was a bottleneck. My very old Adam Audio A7 sounds so delicious with this gear.The microphone amplifier is somewhat boring, but good enough if I take this with for a journey, etc. On that portability mode, I really utilize Bluetooth as a source as well, useful feature.

Suena mejor de lo que me esperaba, y el amplificador de auriculares hace honor al DAC. Lo aconsejo para subir un escalón en la calidad musical.
