does it work on aluminium?

Araldite Epoxy is one of the best 2 part adhesives.However, I am not a fan of Araldite Steel.Clean and roughen the Aluminium and use the ordinary Araldite I do not think you will have a problem.After cleaning make the repair sooner rather than later before the surface starts to oxidise. Again it all depends on the contact area of the join, the bigger the better.

Will this bond porcelain to steel?

Bonds most types of metal including steel, galvanized steel, cast iron, aluminum, iron, copper and brass. Will also bond non-metallic materials, such as ceramic, tiles, wood and glass.

Would this be suitable to reattach the metal nosebridge to a pair of sunglasses?

I would not risk it because if you get any of it on the lenses (easily done) you won't be able to get rid of it. If you insist on trying you will have to get a particular Araldite which bonds metal to metal or metal to plastic. You would also have to roughen the metals/plastics first to allow the bond to be successful. Bottom line...don't do it! Most opticians can get it fixed for a nominal fee.

does this stuff will bond métal on glass and be strong enough to support a quite large glass shelf

I glued a metal door hinge to a glass mirror door of a bathroom cabinet. It supported the weight of the door along with another hinge. It is quite a large door, and is still fine after a few years.
