UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL FOR SAMSUNG TV - REPLACEMENT - WITHOUT SETUP

Had to replace the TV remote as the dog ate the old one! Have a Samsung LED TV that is 9 years old so was a bit worried if this would work or not as it is older technology. Looked at a few replacement remotes but opted for this one as the lay out is similar to the original remote and the price was brilliant ..... if it worked. It arrived, popped the batteries in and the remote works fine. I think from memory my original remote had illuminated keys but if it did, this function hasn't worked for years so I am not worried that this remote does not have them. The quality is good enough and I am more than happy with this replacement.

Mum lost the back off her tv remote and couldn't use the telly anymore. This rather large replacement was cheap and works really well. With it having large clear buttons it suits her well actually. Problem solved. Just need a bigger table next to the chair to put it on!! But the telly works fine with it, and since we added an Amazon Firestick 4K it is compatible with that too, making it really easy to switch source from ariel to HDMI input and back again.

The controller looks well-made, and good quality, especially at this price. Getting batteries in was no problem, and it worked immediately with my TV without any need for a set-up routine. Some of the button labelling and positions are different from the original item, but everything I've looked for so far works, and it's just a matter of getting used to the button positions.

Pre-amazon I dread to think where I would have found a replacement remote without buying one of these all-in-one super remotes. My 18 month old son must have put the old one in the bin because I searched high and low for weeks and never found it! This is cheap and manufactured in China as you would expect but if you get it with free postage then £8 isn't too bad in my opinion. It has a new feature that the Samsung one didn't: there is an on/off light in the corner which is quite neat. My main gripe is the way the batteries go in (you'll discover this when you buy it) which is a bit fiddly and the bottom of the remote has a hard piece of plastic which sticks out and makes it feel a bit bulky. This worked instantly with my TV so no set up required. Overall I'm reasonable pleased.

Ordered 2 days ago and delivered today.Put batteries in and worked perfectly straight away.Previous genuine Samsung remote stopped working on right hand buttons. Needed a reasonably priced replacement and this does exactly what it says on the tin.Very happy

.. some buttons are different but you expect that, doesn't take long to figure it out. Needless to say, the original which was lost turned up again shortly after this arrived lol!

This was purchased for an elderly lady with a nine-year-old Samsung TV to replace her broken remote. I took it out of the packaging, inserted a coi[le of AAAs and away it went. No setup required - it just worked. Excellent.

On the positive side,the remote did not take any setting up and worked immediately .On the negative side the batteries do not fit the compartment properly. The slightest shaking causes the batteries to move then the remote does not work. The battery compartment is very difficult to access, overall a very bad design but I guess it's something you have to expect from a cheap and cheerful product.
