Speedlight modifier for portrait photography
Have used many speedlight modifiers as I'm sure many of you have done the same, decided on this as it just made sense after watching Gary's video so off I went and ordered one, I couldn't have made a better choice and remains permanently on my nikon speedlight, these do work beautifully and the flash images looks lovely and balanced out, I use mine at -1 TTL and this works spot on both indoor/out, I sometimes get asked about it by curious guests, I have also purchased the additional domes which don't disappoint and the grid modifier for some flash images I tend to include outside at the golden hour, very happy with this kit, still frips my flash tight, collapses down when not in use but remains in place ,

Can't really get a better on flash diffuser but it could be cheaper!!
I have been using the gary fong for just over a month now, mostly for nightclub photography. I have noticed a difference between it and my £3 small plastic diffuser with the gary fong coming out on top. I haven't used it outdoors much yet so can't comment on that.It fits on my Canon Speedlite nice and tight which is really important when working in a busy nightclub or bar. I've had quite a few people look at it and ask what the hell it is but it's usually not worth explaining! In conclusion:PROSFits wellDoes the job very wellVersatileCONSBit pricey really. Probably be better value if it was in the £25-30 range. It's quite big and does attract (sometimes) unwanted attention and doesn't fit into my camera bag easily if I've got a lot of other kit in there.

Well Made Item
Full time Freelance Photographer:A well made item and produces a good even light. On Gary Fong website lots of information. It also shows him picking camera up by the top of Light sphere while attached to camera to show how firm the attachment is. I found it not so secure on Nikon SB600 Speedlight. I do also have a concern with the added extra weight distribution (Fulcrum/Leverage) on the integrity of swivel joint on Speedlight. Gary Fong also shows in his video putting dome on Light Sphere, he just pops it on top but to in fact it has to be fastened in to groves to stop it falling off.Cost: It might seem a bit expensive and there are other less costly options available. But you know what they say. Buy cheap. Buy twiceDo I like it. Yes. It looks impressive.Would I buy again. Yes.

Gary Fong Collapsible Speed mount.
This Speed Mount has the added advantages of being collapsible and it's fairly lightweight but and it's a big but, is it worth the cost? As far as I'm concerned the answer has to be no.Sure it diffuses the flash nicely and produces a very pleasant effect but I feel the diffuser that cost me around £18 is equally as good and that came with several different colour slip on caps, including a silver one.Seems to me if you can manage get by without the Gary Fong collapsible one and get the cheaper item you can save yourself a considerable amount of cash. I actually prefer the cheaper item as the flash is very slightly more diffused.

A little disappointing
I have been using spheres for years and have loved them. Thought I would give this a go and it is made out that is will sit on the flash and be ridged it found was not so. Not sure about the instructions as a professional photographer I would never shoot in program mode But I will carry on with them and also use my existing as well for different lighting situations.

Great Great great!
Used it for a wedding. First time I used flash for a wedding and was worried about harsh lighting even from bounce flash. Used it for high ceilings in pitch black and came out with great results with an even light! Directed the flash at the people and at ceiling and all said it was fine and didnt blind them!! Used it outdoors and indoors. I thoroughly recommend this. You don't have to buy the add ons they sell online. Used with 600exrt flash on a Canon body. Check out this photo for proof. Bare in mind the room was pretty much dark with soft candle light and low wall lighting.

Why did i not buy this sooner!
Bought for a weddingDiidnt buy it sooner because i didnt think it would be that good. Took the plunge. How wrong i was! Love this!I use 2 cameras D4 & D800 with 2 nikon sb910 flashes 1 has the fong on and the other has the nikon stofen. I swap the fong between cameras. For inside events I use the orange dome, iso 1250 and set wb to K3600. Much prefer the Fong hands down. Better light softer shadows. Its never of the flash now inside or outside

WOW this makes a huge difference
Having seen this before I was sceptical about how much it could improve the use of my flash. I needn't have worried as this piece of kit is simple to use, easy to assemble and the results speak for themselves. My portrait photography has improved greatly because of the better spread of light it gives. The whole item collapses in on itself so it doesn't take up much room. The strap is adjustable for verious sizes of flashes. The instructions on how to get best use are available online rather than in a booklet.I would highly recommend this product.
