An extremely good watercolour paper
On good advice from other watercolour painters I decided to try Arches to paint a picture for my husband. I was very pleased with the quality and the fact that, although I used an awful lot of water, the paper stayed fairly flat (I like to paint wet on wet). I love the grain of this paper too, it looks far more expensive than it is. Although I’m a beginner to watercolour painting, I can recommend this brand, and will be using it for some time to come! (Picture of my painting attached for reference).

THE BEST WATERCOLOUR PAPER
Arches the perfect paper for watercolour paintings. I use nothing but Arches for I know exactly the effects I will achieve each time I use this beautiful paper no matter what subjects and genres I wish to paint. I can paint with confidence. Does not buckle and my brushes leave the exact brush marks I wish to make. Yes Arches is more expensive than many other papers but you get what you pay for and I achieve perfect results each time I use it. If a mistake is made the paint will lift away even when dry not destroying the patina of the paper. I like to experiment with different paints, brushes and papers of all styles makes and prices but nothing compares with Arches.

Beautiful paper but over priced!
I do love Arches watercolour paper immensely, and it does allow you to create better artwork with how well it takes watercolours and water absorbency. However, just to get this to me, it cost nearly 50 Euro which is a massive amount . I need this type of high quality paper so have to pay anyway, but for anyone just doing art as a hobby or just because they enjoy it, go for something cheaper, and still will hold up very well. Winsor and Newton, Canson and other companies do exceptional high quality paper, Fabriano etc. It's beautiful paper, the highest of the highest quality out there in terms of watercolour paper but wow is it expensive, especially now.

The best watercolour paper
This has to be the best watercolour paper that I have ever used - I have only ever used cotton blend paper (as opposed to 100% cotton as this paper is) and it is remarkably better. The colours blend smoothly without even trying, the water uptake is fantastic. Honestly I was amazed at the difference - definitely won't be going back.

Lives up to the hype!
This watercolour paper is an absolute game changer! I was initially a little disappointed at the small size, I usually work on A3 and this is only very slightly larger than A4. However it is a dream to paint on. Lifting is effortless, paint easier to control. If you a make a mistake, no problem! Paint lifts out easily and completely, this paper is very tough and forgiving. It’s a shame it’s so expensive but I will not be using anything else now and will definitely be buying larger sheets.
