very pleased with this product
dubiously I bought this instead of a hole punch to create a hole in the centre of coins to make coin ring jewellery as I want to be able to have control over the coin hole size, is has done the job perfectly and the varying step sizes gives a lot more control over the actual width of the ring surface area, very pleased with this product, I will be buying it again when these are blunted and used to death. These were used with a cordless 18v driver/drill (not hammer) and worked like a dream.Excellent product, bargain price, you will be a fool to not even get these as a backup set.

great bit of kit
I have used these a few times now both on hardwood and softwood, I have even used on PVC wall panels, they work brilliant and seem very sharp and cut very quickly. One thing to remember is when using on hardwood they do get very hot after a while ( burnt fingers to prove it) so be careful!

Use the right tool for the job
On many occasions I have needed to drill holes in cases for hobbyist projects and have used standard drills, upping the size until I had the hole big enough, Often the drills I have were not large enough and I had to resort to using other methods to finish the job and get left with poorly finished projects.Having seen others talk about stepped drills I decided, at last, to give them ago. These Am-tech ones were very cheap but did a nice job on the project I bought them for. In fact I actually started a new project where I needed some neat, exact holes to be drilled because I'd purchased these step drills. Why 4 out of 5 - the case is a bit poor and I have no idea if another set would be even better. But for the price they are very good based on my limited usage.

Good for the price and got the job done easily.
These are pretty decent quality bits for drilling small to large holes in all types of material.Ive used them to drill holes into a metal garage door to fit in some security bolts and they done the job easily enough. The steps are clearly labelled so you know the size it will be and they seem accurate enough. It was a good buy for me as i needed a 14mm hole but normal 14mm drill bits would not fit my small drill chuck.

Great Value for Steel Enclosure Holes.
Cracking value for money to be honest and so far having expanded probably 50 holes using the largest of the bits I can't see any wear or tear.Ideal of course for getting the correct size for fitting gromits or cable glands into an enclosure with each bit covering a set of steps that go from a couple of mm to around 36mm.As always don't beat them to death and overheat them or they will inevitably have a reduced lifespan. I used them with care and cooled in-between holes as I was enlarging in steel not plastic - which they will of course also happily tackle.Overall a very useful tool that I have genuinely used quite frequently.

Quick and clean!
I bought this kit to drill holes in a copper water cylinder header tank.It went easily and quickly through the soft copper wall, and left little burring.Easily fitted in the standard drill chuck. Very pleased.

Speedy hole cutters
I gave this product 5 stars as it works perfectly as intended The incremental steps are defined through adequate feedback when drilling the hole and leave a super smooth finish when cutting into plastic (my only use for these) the only leftover is a bit of 'swarf'Super product, the bag I received wasn't up to much, but my pack wasn't marked as 'Am-Tech' and as such the bag is different from the one shown.

Great, for thin metal
I needed to bore some quite big holes in a motorhome side, which is van bodywork metal. I was able to cut these holes quickly, easily, accurately and with a nice smooth cut and finish. This was simply the right tool for the job, for thin (car/van bodywork type) metal, don't use anything else.Highly recommended, and cheap.
