Does what it says on tin - excellent product, dead easy to set up
Does what it says on the tin! Had an issue connecting my laptop which after speaking to Netgear Technical Support, they found the issue relating to the age/type/model of my laptop and with a few changes to the orbi configuration, it was solved. I am, so far (24 hours in), extremely happy with my purchase. It took me a long time to decide that this was the right option for my problematic wifi arrangements (3 x Devolo range extenders which just weren't up to the job when everything was connected ie. Sky box, Netflix/Blue-ray box, several mobile phones and laptop, plus as you moved around the house you'd have to reconnect to the nearest extender - tedious). Now I can go into any room and have as many devices as I want attached and the wifi at present looks great. Took about 20 mins to set up but that was just finding the right place for the satellite and making sure it could connect to the router. Other than that it was a breeze. A bit expensive, but definitely worth it.

.
I purchased this hoping that is was going to cure my Wifi issues. I am with Virgin Media and have the Superhub 3.0. along with power lines to connect 2 Xbox's 2 smart tv.s 2 iPads 4 iPhones , 2 laptops and a Mac along with smart plugs .The wifi has always been fairly poor. I live in a Victorian House with 3 floors and solid bricks walls, The internet with VM is unto 250 meg but never saw this only on my hard wired Mac.Prior to installing I did a speed check on iPads,Iphones and Laptops, these varied from 19 to 37 meg, less up in the loft. The Orbi is so easy to set up, I put the Superhub into modem only and followed the instructions.I placed the main router on the ground floor and the satellite on the 1st floor in between the 2 bedrooms with xbox's. I got a signal straight away, and did a speed check, 220 ish all around the house. I did a check on my son's laptop, to my disappointment this had not improved, so I connected it to the wireless satellite via Ethernet cable and got speeds again of over 220meg so the issue was the laptop.I had cut outs with Apple Airplay, this is now cured too.The app makes it easy if you have a fairly gobby teenager, you can disconnect just that device from the network, that alone makes it worth the money. Not sussed out yet if you can add time restrictions to individual devices. It is expensive put it has sorted all my issues out, and not had any screaming teenager shouting they've lost the internet.. Worth the investment

When it works it's great.... But the drop connections of satellites make you go mad
I had bought a RBK40 and had issues with the satellite connecting to main router. It was an amazon warehouse deal so I thought maybe something was wrong with it. I've returned it and got this one with an extra satellite. I live in a 190 m2 apartment with two floors so this 6000sqf coverage should be amazing. But it's not. Connected to the main router the speed is amazing over wifi.. I have a 120mbps internet and that's what i get connect to wifi. The router its on my main floor. I placed one satellite on the above floor but it had to be in right above room or else the backhaul between the router and satellite won't be good or working at 5Ghz. If i place the satellite on the other side of the room it will drop the connection. It just works good if it's right above the router. I can live with that as long as the satellite doesnt drop the connection to the router, wich has been happening with some frequency, leaving us without internet, smarthome, etc.I have placed the second satellite in another room. That room is 8meters way from the other satellite(same floor). According to Orbi that satellite connects to the other satellite (using 5ghz backhaul and with good connection) using the daisy chain option. If it connects to the router doesnt work. Either has a poor connection or just gives a magenta color (not sync). But wifi is slow... I get 20/30 mbps of speed over wifi. But this is when it's all good. The satellite is always droping off connection. In my home i have 3 google home, a nvidia shield, a philips hue, 2 laptops and 2 smartphones.Lost hours reading the foruns and seems most people have issues. Connected to router is flawless... But using the satellites is very frustrating.Such a small apartment and with router and 2 satellites I can't have high speed everywhere and when near satellites it's a lottery. It can work or just be offline and magenta or amber...I have the latest firmware and will try to get it to work better, but returning it again and replace it by another thing is on the table.for a 299£ it should be great and not get you mad

Easy to setup and works like a dream
I bought the Orbi system as we just had fibre connected and I’d previously hacked extenders and access points, so wanted the high speed connection to be available throughout our house. We have a largish 4 bed house with three floors in total. I plumped for the smaller unit and have since wished I’d gone for the larger setup.Setup / config. was easy and the whole shebang was in operation within 40 odd minutes. I later added a further satalite upstairs to connect a network printer and that was easy too.I’ve found the app and the network largely trouble free, although have had a couple of instances of network dropping for no specific reason. It’s been running for nearly 20 months and I get 300mbs throughout the house (which incidentally has concrete walls) although there are a few drop offs where it drops to circa 100mbs, but it’s still fine for streaming, etc. From my experience I would highly recommend this product.
