Very sturdy. I call it the beast. Definitely squirrel proof and would be magpie proof but they have taken to flying and bumping into it and collecting the seeds that fall on the garden. Easy to fill and the little birds slip easily through the bars and get to the seeds. Definitely worth the extra cost.

Item arrived in good time. Pleased to say the small birds were happy to use the feeder - especially as there were no pigeons attacking the feeder. Great to see the small birds outnumbering the pigeons for a change. Currently there has only been a couple of pigeons try to use the feeder, and failed. I’m hoping that this happens to any others that try. The feeder is well built and I had no problem opening the lid to fill it up. I would certainly recommend this bird feeder.

We’ve been having an ongoing problem with pigeons. They would empty our previous “pigeon proof” feeder in 90 minutes. They would crowd over it and gobble up all the sunflower hearts, not giving the little birds a chance. At one point I was filling the feeder twice a day so I was having to buy seed regularly. Can the pigeons still get at the seed? Yes, a couple can…..but there’s significantly less pigeons and most importantly the little birds can eat. I find the pigeons are even less interested if I half fill it. Pros: Large feeder, good sized feeding tube, looks nice, easy to fill without spilling seed, well made, coated with germ resistant coating, has four perches (and four feeding holes) inside which the birds use, comes apart well for cleaning, the lid keeps the rain out and the lid makes it hard for pigeons to loiter as they can’t get a good grip. Cons: The lid is very tricky. It’s like a bayonet bulb and takes a lot of practice to be able to open and close it. It’s a case of press and turn. I’m using this outside my flat window so it’s important nothing falls so my husband drilled a small hole into the edge of the lid to secure it which doesn’t affect the waterproof aspect. We also secured the inner section just in case. I’d give it five stars if the lid was easier to use. *Edit* If you put your fingernail just under the lip of the lid it comes off easily. I find it easier to remove even without using a fingernail, it just takes practice. Would I recommend this feeder? Yes. My windowsill isn’t full of fighting, greedy pigeons so far. It’s been out there for a week and the majority of pigeons have moved on and most importantly the small birds can eat without being scared off by big flappy wings. *Edit* The pigeons do still stop by, especially if I fill it to the top but are put off if it’s filled only half way.

Very sturdy, better than most ‘squirrel proof’ feeders, bars are closer together. Despite this a juvenile squirrel still managed to get inside, thankfully no damage.

The cage and the feeder itself are strong and well made. No way in for squirrels. However, the lid does not fasten securely. Our squirrels can easily remove the lid and get inside. I have had to use a strip of plasticine inside the lid to secure it.

Other reviewers have the same issues as me. This bidfeeder could have been designed so much better. The problems are numerous but to begin; at the top there is a lid and a collar, both are held by a bayonette system that is a simple "L" shape. Once you locate the lugs (of which there are x2 diametrically opposed) the rotation required to lock the joint is tiny. Now that doesn't matter with the lid because it's weight and gravity will keep it in place, but on the collar even a small amount of movement from the wind, from larger birds attempting to feed, from pesky squirrels, will easily dislodge the pin causing the whole thing to fall apart. The other pin mechanism issue is the "L" on the lid and "L" on the collar are contrary, i.e. not pointing in the same direction so if you try to turn and lift the lid, that degree of rotation unlocks the collar. That's OK if you happen to take the feeder down and put it on a surface to reload the food but if you tried to do that while it is hanging up there is a risk the whole thing will fall down - you spill the food, the squirels have a field day! Now I haven't even used this feeder. I spotted the weakness disassembling and reassembling the thing and I contemplated a simple fix. You could simply drill one or two pilot holes through the collar and fit self tapping screws. OK simple fix, but then you look a little more and see that the feeder tube sits on / is located on a dome and can pivot. It is secured at the top by the afore mentioned collar but it's a fiddely 2 handed job because unless the tube is perfectly aligned with the hole in the collar you can't easily locate the 2 parts. It did'nt need a dome, a cylinder plate would be more secure. Finally, last complaint - honest - the bird feeder outlets are poorly designed. The rear of the cup is higher than the bowl. Dry bird feed and gravity would keep the bowl topped, up but because the rear is high seed is always going to spill out, OK for the ground feeders I suppose. Now Gardman have put their name and therefore their reputation on this feeder and they have failed! They have failed to do proper product testing, failed to heed the reviews or they would have removed this feeder from sale pending redesign, they have failed me and you the consumer. Why on earth would you buy their products? I won't. I'm out £3.35 sending this thing back, save yourself at least this much.

Habe diese Futterstation seit einigen Wochen im Einsatz und bereits mehrfach neu befüllt. Solide Ausführung, lässt sich leicht öffnen und wieder verschließen. "Meine" Wildvögel lieben den Inhalt und können sich gut am Gitter festhalten, um dann zu fressen.

Joa, also endlich reicht das Futter mal sichtbar länger, keine größeren Vögel, unter anderem Tauben, fressen jetzt den süßen Piepmätzen ihr Futter weg ;P Cooles Ding und Preis Leistung war für mich bei diesem bestens, vor allem ist der Käfig mit guten Abstand zum Futter, im gegensatz zu dem ein oder anderen, das ich hier auch schon angeschaut habe. Das Ding macht einen stabilen Eindruck und man kann es ganz auseinanderbauen, ohne Werkzeug um es dann schön zu reinigen. Mitlerweile hängt es Regengeschützt, ist doch besser, bei dem miesen Wetter jetzt als. Ich kanns nur Empfehlen und die Vögelchens auf meiner Parzelle bstimmt auch ;P Danke! PS: Ich fütter immernoch mit einer für jeden zugänglichen Futterstation, aber die ist manchmal nach 1.5 Stunden leer wie ich letztens gesehen habe und wird nicht ununterbrochen nachgefüllt ;) Bei diesem Artikel hier, haben alles was davon, weil genug von den kleinen Fresssäcken beim futtern und wählerisch sein, das Futter herumwirbeln und es dann herunterfällt ;P So süß, ich wusste garnicht das unsere Meisen in der Luft wie ein Kolibrie in der Luft stehend flattern können... das machte mal eine, als es beim Anflug die Gitter sah, oder vom Kollegen Vogel behindert wurde, der gerade abfliegen wollte, aus dem Durchgang, wo der "Kolibrie" landen wollte :D

Questo prodotto è ottimo, e di facile utilizzo, si apre la porticina verde sopra e si inseriscono le palline di grasso. Cercavo un prodotto simile perché in campeggio siamo soliti distribuire le palline di grasso in piazzola in quanto ci vengono a trovare moltissimi uccellini solo che spesso gli uccellini si incastrano nella retina nella quale vengono vendute. Questo prodotto facilita gli uccellini, in quando non c’è rischio che si incastrino le zampe e in più hanno un supporto per facilitare l’ancoraggio e la stabilità. È di ottima qualità, nonostante abbia preso sole e pioggia non si è ancora rovinato, riesce a contenere anche le palle di grandi dimensioni e quelle fatte artigianalmente. Gli uccellini gradiscono per cui super approvato. Punti a sfavore al momento non ne ho trovato nessuno. Basta inserirlo in qualche ramo o semplicemente mettere un chiodino sul tronco.
