Luminous Squid Rig to 8/0 - 3 Hooks

Brilliant rigs, use them all the time and are killer for cod and ling. Well made only down side is the swivels they come with are not that strong so I just replace them with stronger ones before I use them.

I decided to modify these slightly - as I was wrecking for cod on light (20lb uptide rod), took them off the rig (which seemed well put together with heavy mono), and switch to using them as singularly on a french boom with a 25lb mono. I also put a small glow stick inside and secured it to the 8/0 hook.Although one of the experienced guys said he's never seen anyone catch anything with 'those', I thought I'd try with the modifications - it caught a cod! Although not as successful as the sidewinders I think they're a decent lure in the right conditions AND if used/jigged in the right way.

I bought these for a friend who went fishing off the island's of Scotland and he showed the pictures of the Cod he caught 5'-6' in length 30-50lb they preformed brilliantlyHe shared some of his catch bloody lush is all I can say

liked most of the of the squid .hooks to large for me no doubt they are for rely deep water //made a change of my own hope it meets with approval.. a night lite.room in side to place it looking forward to trying this out

Looks the part, I gave it a 4 because the line the lures are attached to are a bit rough the knots had to be redone. The lures themselves are lose on the hook, so a bit of time needed to secure them (fishing elasticated string) but overall I am pleased with these lures which work suprisingly well.

I haven't had these out on the water yet but the quality is superb and I have no doubt they'll last a few years.
