Fretboard Logic Combo Videos I and II

This may be the most effective approach to playing guitar ever devised! I'm sure there are plenty of other use-able approaches and, as the author says, he'd tried most of them before deciding to devise his own system. The genius of his approach is, in my opinion, his ability to distinguish and clarify how the guitar works as an instrument (versus other instruments) and focus on fretboard fingering patterns without getting bogged down in music theory. He clearly knows and values music theory but that information operates in the background, informing his approach without obscuring it. The C-A-G-E-D chord system is the central feature from which the guitar-specific scales and lead patterns and recognitions of keys arise. This approach forces/induces a familiarity with the fretboard that really can't be over-valued. It seems obvious, but knowing the tones/notes of the entire fretboard is often overlooked in other systems. Step-by-step, this book provided me with a clear, logical system with which to approach "music" without confusion. The author has provided aspiring guitar players (to denote a subtle but important distinction) with a gift, in my opinion. If you want to learn how to play guitar without memorizing a bunch of unnecessary information, this is the book for you! Thanks, Bill! I can now enjoy picking up my guitar without feeling overwhelmed by it!

I already have the book and I bought the video because I find it easier to watch and learn. Having played Guitar for over 30 years, I must say that the video really simplified it for me. I often find that however well a book may be written, you learn better - and FASTER - when someone actually DEMONSTRATES the lessons. This makes it real... and that's what this DVD did for me. I would recommend it highly to everyone, but particularly to those of you who find it tedious to go through a book. It is a must if you have a high level of skill.

I have been learning and relearning music for 50 years. This is one of the best way to explain in an understanding way. Do not be fooled though the stronger your education of theory and guitar will make a difference. This is a great method for all levels but I would recommend to learn music an guitar theory to the point that you would like to really understand why the guitar is made the way it is and you will (understand) why the great recommendations from so many. this DVD or the books deserves the great reviews. The SE book is worth the low cost and goes great with DVD.

This is an extremely well written book covering a wealth of knowledge. It can replace almost every guitar instructional book I have purchased previously. You will not be disappointed !

Short but concise and a very good learning tool ! It does require a very basic knowledge of Music Theory. But builds on that basic knowledge very quickly when used with the book !

I highly recommend Fretboard Logic SE and DVD to anyone who wants to master the guitar. It is very well written and the DVD compliments the book very well. It's worth the investment. After reading this book I was able to understand all the other books on guitar that I ever bought that didn't offer musch because they didn't lead me to understanding the guitar.

The quality of the dvd is poor. Very difficult to navigate stop, go back, selection etc. The info. is solid, but with poor navigation and quality of filming it is frustrating to use.

DVD that goes with the first 2 Fretboard Logic books. Everything was as described. Fretboard Logic is a great product that helps you understand the music rather than just copying it blindly. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Arrived early, in good condition, as advertised; can't really ask for much else.
