Bought this as we have a squirrel that will not take no for an answer over the bag of peanuts we feed them. He chewed through the heavy duty bag, moved it to inside a plastic bench seat, he chewed through that, bought this air tight container (with quite small handles to be honest) and now he's chewed through that. So no I don't think this is air tight, either that or squirrels have a supernatural sense of smell or x-ray vision. Have now resorted to a metal airtight box, so now we wait......

I purchased two of these containers, both threads on the lids are poor quality with no rubber seal and leak badly

The product is very well made with thick material. I was looking for something water tight, and you should be aware that the lid does not seal. The lid could be so much better and doesn't seem to be made to the same standards. The addition of a rubber gasket would resolve this issue and make the product a lot more usable.
